Bio

BRAVURA is Nate (lead vox), Greg (guitar/backing vocals), Matt (guitar), Steve (bass/backing vocals), and Luke (drums). They are the product of fate, as all the members were formerly a part of the band Another Failed Attempt. To say the least, Another Failed Attempt was, in itself, another failed attempt. Though all the members had an unforgettable summer of hanging out and making music, the fruit of their labors was, to be blunt, utter trash. As time went on, even all of the members began to take notice, and therefore disbanded. The breakup led to each member embarking on his own musical journey. Using the little talent gained from AFA as a stepping-stone, the ex-mates each expanded their musical expertise in these new groups. However, none of the aforementioned bands remained together. Although the future members of Bravura did not realize it at the time, the disassembly of these groups was a blessing in disguise.

So came the spring of 2008. Luke and Matt had always been good friends and stayed close outside of the realm of music. One day the pair decided to have a little jam session in Luke’s basement. A few “jams” later, Greg was added and began expounding his own flavor to the melting pot that was steadily beginning to develop its own, distinct taste. These “jams” soon became practices as more pieces to the puzzle were incorporated. Steve was the next to join and filled the void at bass. With new tunes being composed almost daily, the search for a vocalist to provide voice to the music was in full effect. After hearing a few of Nate’s acoustic songs, it was a no brainer to quickly add him to the equation. Showing up to a band practice with a small piece of scrap paper with incoherent text upon it's surface; the song entitled "So Suddenly" was first heard by a select few, and the reunion of these old friends brought the inevitable beginnings of something incredible : Bravura.

In as little as six months, Bravura has gone on to write over a dozen songs (although a few are still in the working stages) spanning the musical spectrum in terms of style, content, substance, emotion and composition. Each character brings in their own sense of musical taste, blending them all together into a genre almost undefined. Through careful listening, one can find the subtle differences in the origins various tracks, including (but not limited to) the initial intent of the song itself. Either beginning as a joke and blossoming into a work of art, or a strenuously articulated masterpiece straight from the beginning. No matter how it is first presented, each piece is a symphony of hard work and endless thought.

With little but a dream, dedicated members, and a basement full of equipment at their disposal, Bravura will continue on to do what they do best, build upon the foundation they created years ago in Another Failed Attempt. Though far from perfect, from wilted roots spectacular things can grow, and for Bravura, their growth has just begun.
