"URBAN NEWS ROOM FEATURES BREAD “NO SURRENDER, NO RETREAT”"

ATLANTA, GA – December 27, 2010 – Urban News Room is proud to announce their UNR Music: New Blood Review. BREAD along with Matrax productions are thrilled to be apart of this artistically illustrated motif of present day hip-hop culture. Please read as Darryn Walters, Writer for Urban News Room captures magic with his feature article…

“(UNR) B.R.E.A.D. is rapping reminiscent of “300.” 100% raw energy. 100% whole-heartedness. 100% talented. Any imperfection, and the email would have been discarded with the rest of flawed artists submitting material via email. However, B.R.E.A.D. returns to rap a king; a lyrical Leonidas. An unbridled flair allows B.R.E.A.D. to reign over any instrumental that approaches his throne (courtesy of the producers MATRAX). With every song created, B.R.E.A.D. aka Ricardo Riviera faces internal confliction. Either be enslaved by the empire of mainstream in efforts to boost sales or cultivate personal virtues. His queen, his music, replies to his perplexity with inquiry. “It’s not a question of what an emcee should do, nor a son, nor a king. Instead, ask yourself, B.R.E.A.D., ‘What should a free man do’?”

No surrender. No retreat. Blessed-Rich-Educated-And-Destined was baptized in the fire of music. His intelligence and intuition respond accordingly to the question at stake. B.R.E.A.D. will always outdo himself in efforts to convey his experiences, as well as others, through the music. B.R.E.A.D. traces his soulful background through the Middle Passage back to the West African cornerstone. Fast-forward to the 20th Century and beyond, young “Kornbread” plunged into the music world learning the source of its strength. “Music is a gift given to us and we must be responsible.”

B.R.E.A.D. views every verse as another opportunity to educate through entertainment, a lesson learned from the likes of Gil-Scott Heron, Sly Stone, and the imprisoned Etheridge Knight. B.R.E.A.D. confesses that he is not only a fan but a student of the game, seeking new opportunities to study and savor other artists’ approach towards articulating emotion through music. His quest for more knowledge leads him through various music genres. As a lyrical Gemini, he looks towards three emcees born under the same stars—Tupac, Andre 3000, and The Notorious B.I.G. B.R.E.A.D. furthers his journey into Punk Rock, Heavy Metal, and Country for narrative inspiration. “They can take the regular and make it astounding,” he declares.

Hip-Hop is at a good place for B.R.E.A.D. “It is neither dead nor dying,” he professes. He views Hip-Hop as a universal language and plans to inject passion back into the game. His songwriting skills have impacted the likes of LaFace’s Ciara (credits for “Oh”) and Interscope’s Eve to reveal his ability to lyrically empathize with other artists. B.R.E.A.D.’s collabs include Skillz, Marsha Ambrosius, and Sterling Simms.

B.R.E.A.D. has proven his versatility of doing radio spins (“Heart Pump”), club anthems ( “N Da Way”), and LP favorites (“Your Everything”). Many labels descend upon B.R.E.A.D. like the Persian empire. No pressure; B.R.E.A.D. has seen this all before and is comfortable in his rhythm. Life has made him sharp enough to deliver a lyrical laceration to the game. Aside from other projects, January 4, 2011 marks a sophomore milestone. His second album “The Treatment” will debut to all who yearn for substance.”

"BREAD Releases Sophomore Album entitled “The Treatment”"

A new album under the direction of Matrax Productions
PHILADELPHIA, PA – January 25, 2011 – BREAD is proud to announce the release of his sophomore album entitled “The Treatment”, available for download now at www.breadmuzic.com. This 15-track project is a testament of who and what a real emcee does.
BREAD goes on to explain his inspiration for the new album…”My last album was entitled “The Release”, had to get a lot of stuff off my chest. I decided to piggyback off a rehab theme, when you’re released from rehab, you start your treatment. Coming into this project, it’s more about the records that are used for me in a medicinal way. Sometimes things are painful and uncomfortable when you’re going through treatment, like chemotherapy, it’s that treatment that will get you healthy again. I tried to create records with that in mind, records that can help, heal, and treat people”.
When asked what his favorite songs on the album are, BREAD explains…”Well, all the records are my favorite, however if I had to narrow it down I would say When We Fall…very uplifting, yet real record. The subject matter explains that when we fall, it’s never to far to get back up, keep pushing on, it will be enough to lift you up”.
This second studio album is already anticipating rave reviews. “The Treatment” features artist collaborations with: Glenn Lewis, Peedi Peedi, Neka Holiday, Corey Latif, Twizz and more.
BREAD sheds lights on his experience working and creating Unconditional Love with the Grammy nominated artist Glenn Lewis… “The experience was like creating magic in a lab. Glenn Lewis is a good friend of mine, he’s such an amazing dude as well as gifted performer, artist and writer. I’m honored to work with him. The Unconditional Love record is my most important record because it’s also my tribute to the late Tupac Shakur”.

If you don’t give up…you will never lose; in whatever battle you are to fight in life. This is my best project-to-date and I’ve been sent here to share it”.

Bio

Ricardo “Bread” Riviera is one of the most compelling and inspiring hip hop
artist creating music today. His undeniable flair, intense energy and profound
creativity captivate listeners unlike any other recording artist in recent history.
While his emotional delivery and motivational content invigorates both mind and
body.
Born to a military family, Bread is a product of several environments Pittsburgh, DC, Maryland and currently Philadelphia. He was
previously signed to a short-lived major label deal as part of a duo under
renowned Philadelphia producers Vidal and Dre. During that time Bread was
recognized as “a major talent and a star” and generated considerable industry buzz.
Subsequent to that episode he remained active in the Philadelphia music scene,
lending his talent to an array of popular artist’s projects including Ciara, Eve,
Floetry’s Marsha Ambrosius, Def Jam’s Sterling Simms and Wanya of Boyz II
Men. He also landed small theatrical roles (extras) in the Temptation’s movie and in the
Jackson’s movie respectively.
During this time he also unfortunately experienced the some of the pitfalls all
too common in the music industry. Bread was already a narcotic drug and alcohol
addicted and dealt with heavy depression and anxiety as well, but he began to spiral downward and openly admits that last months of dependency had him in some
of humanity’s darkest places. But his story is one of triumph and overcoming.
He battled his demons, waged a difficult and often painful fight and emerged
triumphant, recently celebrating 2 years clean!
Bread is now making the best music of his career This past Summer , He was invited to Shade 45 BIG Sundays wit MS Mimi and Miss Jag and Dj JaySki for a powerful and fun filled interview

He pours his
experiences over super charged tracks from Damon Hayes and Scott carter, creating a musical experience that
is at once, emotionally compelling sometimes disturbing( to some) and consciously inspiring. Altogether “LOAgang” is moving at the speed of success and is set to bring Bread’s deep
passion, profound pain, penetrating joy, tears and smiles to the world!
BREAD! THE LAW OF ATTRACTION IN ACTION!
