Lyrics

The American Dream

Written By: Howie Haber

A young boy blinks his eyes awake
at the sound of the bedroom door
daddy's home from his second job
but he's goin back for more
only seven hours of sleep before
he heads back out that door
Chorus
It's what keeps you motivated

It's what keeps you right on track
It's what you grew up to believe in
..................The American Dream
The American Dream

A waitress in a coffee shop
gets a tip of nickels and dimes
as she puts them in her pocket
she sings another verse of rhyme
the greatest poem ever written
Has it's final line
B Chorus
Don't Let it get you Down
Don't Let it get you Down
Don't Let it get you Down

A man grounds out his cigarette
and climbs the uptown bus
there's just no time for play today
she'll still smile
say that's OK
cause daddy's got to make his pay
Chorus
Ridin on his favorite mount
he surveys his domain
a cattle ranch is hard on life
and it barely even pays
but it's his to build and his to hold
and give to his kids one day
Chorus
B - Chorus
Don't Let it get you Down
Don't Let it get you Down
Don't Let it get you Down

Do Let Me Buy

Written By: Howard Haber

Do Let Me Buy

Drinkin wiskey takes me down
To the dark side of this town
There I don't feel so all alone
Some nights I don't even make it home

When I look around I see
All the loves that left me
Drownin sorrow is the game
Think I'll play it once again

Don't let me think
Dont let me hurt
Don't let me stay too long
Don't let me cry
But Do let me buy
Another round before you go home

It's the mornings that I hate
Breakfast alone has got no taste
Think I'll call in sick today
Maybe lay in bed all day

If I sound a little hurt
It's just me wallowing in the dirt
Think I'll pour myself a round
Another night is comin down

Don't let me think
Dont let me hurt
Don't let me stay too long
Don't let me cry
But Do let me buy
Another round before you go home
