Bio

In the fall of 2004, Breaking Tides was formed in the garages of your not so typical high school teenagers. It’s their precision lead guitar riffs and a solid rhythm section, coupled with ever-ranging vocals that projects Breaking Tides far beyond the ranks of the average local band. Soon after performing in front of local south Florida audiences, Breaking Tides relocated to Orlando, where they have since continued to pursue their dreams as pioneers of the music industry.

Playing in and packing such venues as House of Blues (Lake Buena Vista, FL), Tinker Field (Warped Tour 2007, Orlando Florida), UCF Arena (Orlando, FL), Club Firestone (Orlando, FL), The Social (Orlando, FL), The Haven (Winter Park, FL), Club Revolution (Fort Lauderdale, FL), Breaking Tides never ceases to turn first time listeners into hardcore fans (courtesy of www.breakingtides.com and www.breakingtides.com/epk.pdf).

Breaking Tides released their self-titled, self-produced, debut album on June 5th, 2007. The album was released under Breaking Tides’ own label and distribution in both hard CD format for $8 and downloadable from a variety of online retailers such as iTunes, CD Baby, Napster, Verizon, Payplay, Musicshare, Groupietunes, Improduction, and Buymusic. A hard copy of the Breaking Tides CD is available on the Winter Garden, Florida distributor, Downtown Rivals’ website www.downtownrivals.com. Downtown Rivals specializes in the worldwide distribution of merchandise from bands all over the United States and across the globe.

Breaking Tides has a few very special promotion tools such as a video podcast that is released bi-weekly. Viewers can subscribe to the podcast and iTunes will automatically download it as soon as it is available. The podcast can also be viewed at www.breakingtides.com. They also, with a few tricks of their own, have a very strong handle on the grassroots market in Orlando.

Breaking Tides was recently featured in the Central Florida Future, the student newspaper at the University of Central Florida regarding Vans Warped Tour 2007 at Tinker Field. The article stated “They [the bands] all drew out large crowds for their performances, especially Breaking Tides - the lead singer showed his insane vocal range.”

The success of Breaking Tides thus far cannot be measured solely in the form of album sales, but rather in the their growth as a band and as professionals in the music industry. They are willing to do all that it takes to make it in the music business. Breaking Tides has made thousands of loyal fans in the United States and around the world, mostly ranging from 13 to 20 years old. The question to ponder when considering Breaking Tides should be “Do I want to be there when Breaking Tides reaches the top?”
The success of their aspiration came immediately, as, after playing covers for several shows, the band's original songs made its way into the limelight. Breath-taken after just an earshot, audiences of Breaking Tides were left wanting more. Breaking Tides answered their call with song after song, each reeking with originality, skill, and emotion. Their musical limits were extended further still when, in November of 2006, drummer Nate Parsell joined ranks as the fifth and final member of Breaking Tides. Since then, they have been the talk of the local scene, molding audiences into amazing and loyal fans, and mesmerizing every venue wherein they've taken stage.

Playing in, and packing such venues as House of Blues (Lake Buena Vista, FL), Warped Tour, The Social, Club Firestone, The Bank Atlantic Center (Home of the Florida Panthers), Club Revolution, Club Scene, Club Ovation, Pompano Indoor Skate, Solid Sound & Stage, and the Talent Farm, Breaking Tides never fails to turn first-time listeners into hardcore fans. The recent release of their self-produced, self-titled album was an instant hit, as CD's were completely sold out at the release party.

However overwhelming it may be that all this has been accomplished in only two and a half years time, Breaking Tides still wishes to push further and venture onward. After all, it is all that they have evolved into. They breathe in life, and exhale music.
