Bio

Breakwater is an up and coming acoustic band out of the mists of Studio City, California that has revolutionized the idea of "Acoustic Rock". It is comprised of four guys that have mixed their talent and love for music to create a new sound that is unheard of in today's music scene.
Kevin Campos leads the acoustic act with the vision of inspiring everyone with his soothing vocals. Sergio R. Alva plays stylish riffs and catchy chords on guitar that compliment the vocals and make their unique sound memorable. JB Aletky offers the groove and technique that gives their music rhythmic and melodic definition with his exclusive approach at playing bass. Kaelan Housewright's percussion provides the right mix of electrifying beats that completes the original sound of this acoustic quartet.
Breakwater has toured the coffee shop circuit around Los Angeles, including the Psychobabble Café, Acoustic Wahx at the Aroma Café, The Passage, The Blue Café, and The Highland Grounds. The boys have played at a number of private parties for birthdays and holidays. They also support and play at local charity events such as the American Cancer Society's Cancer Walk that is held every summer at Birmingham High School in Van Nuys. This spring they plan on going on a tour of all of the local high schools in and around the San Fernando Valley, with hopes of creating a greater awareness and acquiring a larger fan base.
The band has evolved quite a bit since it first began in late October of 2004. What started as an acoustic side project for laughs has turned into something more certain. This past year has been exceedingly eventful for the band. They have now grown more mature and are realizing their careers as musicians. In doing that, they have set a few smaller goals for themselves that they hope will bring them closer to that ultimate goal of making it big one day.
Right now Breakwater is tracking in the studio and they plan to finish recording their first full length album by the end of the summer. Getting a CD out will be a major hurdle for the band. But once it is completed, they plan on using it to take the band to the next level. Having a CD will allow them to do a great number of things that they have been unable to do in the past. It is very hard to build a solid following without something for the fans to take home and listen to. They also hope that selling them will help raise a little money to pay for creating band merchandise, which they will sell to try to help raise enough money for that PA system they need for the high school tour next year.
All in all, they boys of Breakwater are now unyielding as ever, and look forward to a bright future. They want to take this new exciting style of music and share it with anyone and everyone who will listen. Now that they have these new set of goals, they are laying the steps toward that big dream. With challenges met, they can almost see light at the end of the tunnel, and the closer they get to it, the more fuel there is to feed their ever growing fire of determination. You do the math. Breakwater is going places, and they hope to see you there!
