"Breana Raquel Unveils ‘Q&A’ Music Video"

I am really enjoying her soulful vocals and how they soar over the smooth and sensual production packed with infectious melodies and harmonies. - Caesar Live N Loud

"BREANA RAQUEL TALKS WITH TMI ABOUT HER PASSION FOR SINGING & ACTING"

You started your acting career at a young age, what inspired you to begin acting?

I noticed how much I loved my family’s movie nights, and I found myself trying to act like the characters I liked in them. I didn’t know a whole lot about acting, I just knew I wanted to be a part of the whole filmmaking process.

What was your favorite role to play and why?

My favorite role to play has been Kennedy. I just filmed the pilot and it was a lot of fun to play the instigator, who starts all the drama. Kennedy is very cute and small, so it’s a lot of fun to turn around and be the reason there’s conflict in the show!

What actor/actress are you influenced by?

I have always loved Sandra Bullock! She has such an incredible range, and she kills everything from Miss Congeniality to Gravity! I’m so excited to see her in her new film, and I swear the woman doesn’t age!

You recently were cast in a recurring role in a CRYPT TV mini series. Can you tell us about this new project of yours?

The series is called “Mohawk” and I play Estelle, the ghost that haunts the town! It’s a thrilling little horror series, and was a lot of fun to play one of CRYPT TV’s monsters! You can watch the series on their Facebook page.

What inspired you to start singing?

As a little girl, I would always hum whatever song was stuck in my head. My Mom caught on to this and put me in voice lessons. I have literally not stopped singing since.

How would you describe your musical style?

I would say my style is a pop/R&B mix!

Are there any artists you look up to right now?

I have been a huge fan of Ariana Grande’s vocals for years, but as I learn more and more about my artistry I’ve noticed I listen to more music by Kehlani, Bazzi, etc.

Can we expect any new music soon? If so can you spill some details about them?

Yes! I’m working on an ep right now. My goal was to make it pretty diverse so everyone has a song they vibe with. I’m excited to see which songs people mostly respond to!

What are your friends and parents thoughts on your career in singing and acting?

My family has been 100% supportive of my career since the day I started! As well as my friends, we help each other self-tape and work on scripts!

What goals have you set out for yourself in your career and in your personal life?

My main goal is to reach people through my work. Whether they vibe with my music and can relate to my lyrics, or they see what film I’ve done and are inspired to create something themselves! My goals for the future are to be touring and performing my music, and making huge films and eventually directing my own.

Do you have any advice for anyone trying to make it as a singer or actor?

Consistency, consistency, consistency. Seriously, no matter where you are in your career, if you don’t give 100% with everything you do, there will always be someone who will.

What social media platform do you use most to stay connected to your fans?

I use Instagram mostly, but I encourage people to add me on snapchat too!

Does your fan base have a name?

Not yet! I’d love to see what they come up with in the future!

What was the craziest fan encounter you have had?

I had one enthusiastic fan, who would write me and make me videos every single day, multiple times a day.

What’s an average day for you look like?

I don’t really have an average day, my schedule is constantly changing. One day I could be in the studio and the next I could be on set!

What 5 words would you use to describe yourself?

Creative
Sarcastic
Motivated
Adventurous
Loyal

Do you have any last things you want to tell your fans?

Stay tuned! I have some really cool projects in the works for you guys!:) - Teen Music Insider

"5 Insider Tips With Actress Breana Raquel"

I had the pleasure of interviewing Breana Raquel. Breana is an 18 year old artist from Maryland. She lives in LA with her sister to pursue her career as an entertainer. Besides singing and acting, Breana enjoys traveling the world with her family, fashion and cooking.

Thank you so much for joining us! Can you tell us a story about what brought you to this specific career path?

I got on my career path the same way many other people with a passion for entertaining others have. I realized I enjoyed being on stage and in the spotlight at a young age. At 3, I was doing beauty pageants and performing for anyone who would watch. I started singing at 5 and that kind of moved over into acting. I did theater a little bit when I was younger too, but didn’t really develop a love for acting until 11 when I went to New York to explore commercial acting. One thing led to another and I found that I love film and television. Ever since then I’ve been juggling my passion for singing and acting.

Can you share the funniest or most interesting story that occurred to you in the course of your acting/directing/performing/hosting career?

I once went to a singing audition and it went so well I got a call back! BUT at the callback, they asked if I could dance, I said ‘Sure, I can MOVE’ showing off my ‘body roll’ — so they assured me it’d be easy choreography and had me go over to the dancing side. It was anything but easy, they moved through the moves so quickly, they showed both the hand movements and feet movements, but NOT together and it seemed like after a minute of instruction they were ushering us in front of the casting directors. One of them smiled big at me, until the music started! I remembered about .03 seconds of the routine — it was so bad and I’m pretty sure I did spirit fingers at some point! To make things worse — after it was over, they announced over the intercom the ‘singers that tried to dance’ were released!!!

Here is another great story. I once went to a commercial audition that was for real runners who actively train. I have never been the athletic type, but I did track for one year in middle school, so that made me a runner…right? Anyway I had just signed with my commercial agent and didn’t want to turn down an opportunity right away. So I laced up my tennis shoes and went to the audition. In the beginning all they had me do was take some “athletic” looking pictures. I thought (well, prayed) that would be all they would have me do, but deep down I knew they were about to see just how much of a ‘runner’ I really am. They had me run across this field to a tree. The grass was so uneven I almost tripped and fell. He definitely noticed that I lost my balance. So I acted like I wasn’t out of breath, picked up the broken pieces of my ego and went home.

What are some of the most interesting or exciting projects you are working on now?

I’m working on my first big network show right now. I play the daughter of one of the characters and it has been such a cool experience so far! I’m also working on my first EP, I can’t wait to release some of my music!

Who are some of the most interesting people you have interacted with? What was that like? Do you have any stories?

I’ve been working with a big music industry vocal coach for a while now. He sometimes has students join other students’ session so we can learn from each other. He brought me in for one guys’ session and it turns out it was Cameron Dallas. It was so crazy because I watched him on vine in middle school. Another day I was walking into my session as he was walking out and he recognized me and my sister and gave us hugs. We looked at each other like what?? We couldn’t believe we were on hugging bases with Cameron Dallas.

Which tips would you recommend to your colleagues in your industry to help them to thrive and not “burn out”?

Work hard but don’t forget that mental health and making sure you focus on other things in life is super important. When I first moved to LA I found myself worrying so much about if I was good enough in the room and I always told myself “I need to book”. It took me a while to realize focusing on whether you book or not, instead of just doing it because you love it was hurting me more. So I’d say hang out with your friends, take a lazy day to get your mind right. Even taking a day trip can help you snap out of trying to be perfect and help you remember why you started in the first place.

You are a person of great influence. If you could start a movement that would bring the most amount of good to the most amount of people, what would that be? You never know what your idea can trigger. - Thrive Global

"Actress, Bryans Road native launches new EP"

Breana Raquel, has appeared in a number of productions, most recently on the CBS shows “Criminal Minds” and “SEAL Team.” On Feb. 14, she launched her first EP, “Beginner’s Love,” which consists of five songs she recorded and performed, and is going on a tour to high schools along the West Coast in the spring. - Maryland Independent Newspaper

"Feature: Actress Breana Raquel Chats “Criminal Minds,” “Seal Team,” and Her Emerging Career"

We had the opportunity to speak with actress Breana Raquel. Check out the interview below.

Hi, Breana! Thank you for granting the interview. You’re an acting sensation! Your career is soaring and we’re excited to speak with you about. You’re best known for your roles in “Seal Team” and “Criminal Minds.” What do you enjoy most about playing those roles?

Hi! Thank you so much! I really enjoy how dramatic both shows are. My role on Criminal Minds is a little more intense than my role on Seal Team, but both are so fun to play and I’m so lucky to be a part of both shows!

What inspired you to become an actress?

My love for watching movies really inspired me to get into the industry! I always loved trying to put myself in a character’s shoes of whatever movie I had just been watching! I’ve always been so interested in how a performance can move someone, and just really wanted to be a part of that!

Let’s talk about the importance of branding yourself. What advice can you share with aspiring talent?

I’m a very diverse person. I love a lot of different things and have multiple styles. So for me, branding was and sometimes still is tricky. I would say sit down and ask yourself how people would describe you if you weren’t there. Then think about what you would like to be known for. A combination of those can be a great start to branding yourself!

What has been your biggest challenge in the industry?

I think my appearance has been the biggest challenge. I’m mixed with black and white, but a lot of times people don’t know what my ethnicity is. I’m “ethnically ambiguous” in this industry and sometimes that works to my advantage and other times it doesn’t. Especially if they’re going for a specific look.

What’s the ultimate direction of your career?

The ultimate direction of my career is to do both acting and singing. I want to do it all! Be in a few amazing shows, and movies. I want to go on tour and release multiple albums. Id love to direct and screen-write. My ultimate goal is to keep going. If I succeed in one area, I’d love to see where else that can take me!

Breana Raquel

Tell us about your songwriting.”

Songwriting is so fun! I love it, it’s like a diary but in song form. It’s really cool to put your feelings on paper and see where it goes. Songwriting for me is a time where I can be raw and vulnerable. That’s why most times it’s very therapeutic.

Are you working on new music?

I am!! I’m very excited about my EP. It’s dropping in February and I can’t wait to share with everyone what I’ve been working so hard on. It’s going to be amazing!

When looking forward on your career, what do you hope to achieve and why?

When I look at my career I like to look at the big picture but also have smaller goals to work towards. For example, it’s almost 2019 and my big goal for my singing career is to go on tour. For my acting career, I want to book a pilot. This industry is constantly changing and so are my goals, but never the big picture of doing what I love every day.

Who have been your biggest influences?

My biggest influences have been Zendaya and Ariana Grande. Zendaya does what she loves and is still so family oriented and unproblematic. She’s a role model to girls everywhere. Not to mention a total fashion icon. I admire Ariana Grande’s strength. She shows the world that she takes her pain and tries to make the best of every situation. I’m convinced nothing can hold her down. Seeing how they face the world while still doing what they love really pushes me to do the same with my career.

If you had to do it all over again, would you still choose this career? Would you do anything differently?

Yes! 100% I’ve tried other things and looked into other careers and always found myself gravitating towards entertainment. With that being said, there are other careers I’m interested in, like interior design. I think that would’ve been a cool field to get into, but my heart belongs to the entertainment industry. I would do some things differently. If I were to start over, I would’ve moved to LA when I was younger so I could start my career being more around the industry.

Do you have anything else you would like to share about your career?

I’m always working on exciting things, so stay tuned! Connect with me and reach out! I love meeting new people and seeing how we can create together! My main social media platform is my Instagram: @breanaraquel you can connect with me on there! - Occhi Magazine

"Enter a Secret Party With Breana’s Release “Lottery""

The Los Angeles based Pop & R&B artist Breana began her career in 2018 and since then has already appeared on major networks CBS and ABC. Recently, Breana released her eclectic, exciting single “Lottery” and this one is full of good energy. As “Lottery” starts we felt like we were taken to Havana where Breana was throwing a secret underground party that would go until the sun would rise. There are a lot of great little details about “Lottery”, Breana for starters quickly demonstrates her ability to write a captivating hook with the lyrics “run run but you can not hide”, her little vocal adlib’s and harmonies add in a sweet little spice of interest that keeps our ears constantly pleased from start to end. The shuffling groove that keeps a constant background pulse throughout “Lottery”, this groove is then complemented by a melodic gritty bass that introduces a little Latin flair that we cannot get enough of. Breana’s performance is what seals the deal for us, as soon as her vocals begin we were given a level of comfort but with a little flair of mystery that had us constantly wanting more. We can’t recommend enough to give “Lottery” a listen, you’ll be sure to never forget it. - BUZZMUSIC

Bio

My name is Breana Raquel and I'm an Artist. I have passion for creating music and films. I was born and raised in Maryland, and moved to LA to pursue my career. For years I have spent my time and effort learning about the entertainment business. I continue to learn through experiences and the constant challenges the industry throws my way. Although my main focuses are singing and acting, I enjoy branching out to the songwriting and screenwriting fields. My main goal as an Artist is to produce material people can relate to and be moved by. If I can get one person to really feel what I project through my work, I have done my job. I believe in creating material that is honest and different. I love putting my own twist on broad ideas, such as love songs, to have a deeper meaning and ultimately reveal what my truth is. Some of my favorite work is when I find a way to creatively imply something without actually saying it. That way, people can take my implied meaning and relate to it based on their own life experiences. My main goal in life is to be what my mom has always said: Be healthy, happy and safe.
