“London’s answer to Deerhunter, god knows we’ve needed one.”–LeCool London
“Hurrah for Breathe Out, five young men from London secreting scuzzy grunge-lite pop and squealing guitar solos. There’s An Animal In My Eyes takes all that and adds one massive dose of yearning. Yearning to know, to understand, to make sense of it all.”–Abeano
“a bit of UK Rock that you probably thought died at the advent of Simon Neil's blonde barnet.” – Neu Magazine

Biography

Alex Clegg and James Goodhead started Breathe Out in early 2010 after an unexplained cardiac arrest put James in hospital for a month. During this time the boys sent songs they were working on backwards and forwards and this creative spark formed into a fruitful recording project when James regained his health. The full line-up was formed later that year and the band started gigging at the beginning of 2011.
Breathe Out released a self-titled 5-track EP on Art Is Hard Records in April 2011 which quickly sold out, gaining attention from a number of independent and major label A&R people, as well as Huw Stephens who championed them on his Radio 1 show, and Jon Hillcock who invited the band for an interview and performance live on BBC 6 Music.
