The Bredelers
Formerly known only as a small Christmas cookie, today they are celebrated across the plains of Alsace (located in north-eastern France)! « The Bredelers » has been transformed into a flesh and blood group of musicians, a fine vintage...
3 musicians, from the city of Strasbourg, got the idea to breathe new life into the Alsacian language via good old Rock ‘n’ Roll.
The Bredelers revisit in their own style, burlesque Alsacian folk songs. A mix of Celtic jigs, festive melodies, a touch of the French musette, tribal rhythms, and metal guitars, all sung in the ancient language of Alsace and French.
The definition of their music: "celti-pounki-rockl"
These modern day swashbucklers with their sharp-edged guitars, return from a past too quickly forgotten, to make you laugh, dance and have a rip roar in’ good time.
Dress your grandmother (mamema) in leather, put a kilt on your children and teach them how to bang their heads while listening to the Bredelers CD (10 000 sales) or showing the „ Bombomstand“ video clip (more as 120 000 views on Youtube in 2008) – a simple, but effective Power Rock in the spirit of Toy Dolls, AC/DC or, for the experts, Rose Tatoo.
They are under the artistic direction of Claude Chamboissier, director of Toure Kunda and Matmatah (two very successful French groups).
The Bredelers identity and their message:
A regionalism of culture, open to the world, a form of "Alsacian celtitude".
Already supported by the Météor brewery (beer) and the Sources of Soultzmatt (spring water), the Bredelers project is on the label Divan Bleu Records, recorded by Doug Cook (Jeff Beck, Cali, Luke, Cradle of filth, etc...) and is published by Fairwood Music.
