"Atlanta Journal Constitution"

"RELIABLE BLUES: One of the most reliable nights of entertainment in town is the cool blast of weekly blues from one of Atlanta's most reliably swinging quartets." - Shane Harrison, AJC - Access Atlanta

"BluesBytes.com"

"The Breeze Kings feature a sound deeply rooted in 1950s Chicago blues, but they also sneak in a healthy helping of Delta blues and R&B into the mix as well. Their recent release, You Got To Bring Some To Get Some (Veritone Records), showcases their considerable talents well on 14 tracks that groove from start to finish. There’s plenty of vintage Chicago material here with well-done covers along with some very good originals. You Got To Bring Some To Get Some is an excellent disc of great blues that should not be missed."
- Graham Clarke, BluesBytes.com

"Creative Loafing - Atlanta"

"Anchored by bandleader Carlos Capote, BK define themselves by the blues they choose and the way they play it -- authentic, pre-rock excavations, mostly from '50s and '60s icons and lesser-knowns, delivered with a rowdy vigor that's true to the form." - Bryan Powell, Creative Loafing (Atlanta)

"Music Maker Relief Foundation"

"You and your band are top knotch. It is just a matter of time and hard work that you will find yourself on stages around the world." - Tim Duffy, Founder & Pres. of Music Maker Relief Foundation

"BluesWax Magazine"

"There is a vibrant tone to their proceedings. One senses their respect for the purer aspects of the Blues. This combination goes all the way to produce a CD that is rockin' Blues at its best." - Gary W. Miller, BluesWax Magazine

"Tallahassee Democrat"

"The Breeze Kings, led by harmonica player and singer Carlos "Cool Breeze" Capote, have conquered Atlanta with a jumping mix of styles that ranges from sweet home Chicago electric blues to sizzling Texas blues to raw-and-ready Mississippi Delta and Piedmont blues. The music swings, shuffles and shakes a mean tailfeather." - Kati Schardl, Tallahassee Democrat

"Blues & Co. Magazine"

"A true pleasure with rich sounds that spring forth with freshness from an epoch that has all but vanished, or so we believed. Its the kind of CD that stays on the tray because it is always played. …… I am truly unable to find a fault in this record and that leaves me with only one lingering desire- that these musicians leave the US and come to....France??" - Erick Tonton, Blues & Co. Magazine, France and Belgium

"Digital City Atlanta"

"The Breeze Kings have the look and sound of an authentic '50's juke joint blues band." - Kevin Sechrist, Digital City Atlanta

Bio

The Breeze Kings are making waves in the blues scene because they have something special. Call it talent, dedication, charisma, passion, on-stage chemistry … whatever it is, this classic blues combo is one of Atlanta's most popular and sought after bands.
The Breeze Kings formed in 1997 on a whim when a premier local blues club needed a house band for Thursday nights. Four up-and-coming local blues players who barely knew each other came together out of a mutual love for classic 50’s Chicago style blues. Word spread fast and today they perform over 150 shows per year all over the eastern USA and have completed four multi-date European tours.
Spotlighting complex guitar parts, explosive harmonica, and rock steady rhythms, their exciting and authentic blend of Chicago blues, Delta blues, and other regional styles has caught the attention of blues fans everywhere. Their energy has won over many new blues fans while their unwavering dedication to the time honored blues traditions has earned them the respect and admiration of many blues purists around the world. It’s no wonder the Breeze Kings have won Creative Loafing’s Best Blues Band in Atlanta award TEN times (1999, 2000, 2001, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2010, 2015) and were a top ten finalist at the 2005 International Blues Challenge in Memphis TN.
The Breeze Kings have opened for Bo Diddley, Leon Russell, Steve Miller Band, George Thorogood, Atlanta Rhythm Section, Marshall Tucker Band, Buckwheat Zydeco, Saffire-Uppity Blues Women, John Hammond, Eric Bibb, Otis Taylor and have shared the stage with many regional and national blues acts. They have performed live on the radio and their recorded music is regularly played on many local, regional, national and international blues radio and internet programs.
The Breeze Kings are also long time members of the Atlanta Blues Society. Bandleader Carlos Capote was recently awarded an honorary lifetime membership and long served as the musical director of the “Blues In The Schools” program, which educates today’s youth about the music, culture, and traditions of the blues.
The Breeze Kings debut CD “Tying One On … for the People” was released in 1999 after two years of steady club performances. The CD showcases the band’s talent, influences, as well as their passion and commitment to the authentic sound and form of the classic Chicago blues labels from the 50’s and early 60’s. Everything was recorded live, in one night, in one room, with a couple of vintage mics and tube preamps, straight to ½ inch two track mono … just like the old days. No multitracking, mixing, or overdubbing. Just one night of sweat, soul and blues straight to tape
The Breeze Kings second CD "You Got To Bring Some To Get Some", released in 2003, pushed the band’s success and reputation to new levels. While staying true to their classic blues roots, the new CD features 9 original tunes, special guests, and showcases the band’s songwriting talents and musicianship. Nothing typical about this one. The sound moves you, the grooves are deep enough to fall into, and the lyrics are personal and stay with you for hours. You'll listen to it over and over.
The Breeze Kings third CD "Two Guys Live" features a live, all acoustic, performance by Capote (harmonica, vocals) and Ransone (guitar). It is an intimate recording in the spirit of the great coffehouse records of the 1960's.
The Breeze Kings most recent CD "Can't Stay Home" was released in 2012 and led to a fourth European tour.
All four Breeze Kings CD's have been very well received by both critics and audiences with glowing reviews and radio play lists coming in from all over the world.
The Breeze Kings are not like every other blues band and they are gaining attention everywhere they go.
