"New Career as singer follows health problems for Divide Woman"

Brenda Hanna of Georgetown has seen life pass before her eyes from a stroke and heart trouble a year or so later. The result of these health problems at such a young age led her to a new musical career, an endeavor in which she had already immersed herself but which took a new turn.
"Welcome To Another Day: is the name of Hanna's first-every CD of all original songs written and recorded by her and her husband Neil who plays guitar on the CD. Her DC of all original music mixes a soulful messafe of hope, healing and loss into a tasty stew of Americana, folk, blues and country. Hanna's Beautiful vocals mixed in with her eclectic blend of music make this a concert not to be missed - The Georgetown Gazzette Newspaper

Bio

I have played and written music for over 20 years but have just recently found my own true voice...through a series of health issues including a stroke and breast cancer. I come from a manly rock/country rock background and my husband Neil comes from a bluegrass/country and blues background. Together we have written some of the most powerful songs I have ever sung. My lyrics are haunting and come from a deep deep place in my soul and have been set free by surviving life threatening situations. I have been told over and over by people who have listened to our CD or have seen us playing out how much my music has touched THEIR soul. I have a need just to share my songs to anyone and everyone who will listen!!!! My influences are far to many to mention but a few are Patty Griffin, Bonnie Raitt, Melissa Ethridge, Kate Wolf, Aretha Franklin, Annie Lenox, Bob Dylan.............I love all kinds of music and love to hear new ways to make beautiful sounds! I would like to think that my lyrics come straight from my soul and they are my connection to something bigger than me...I hope that you are touched by the honesty and powerfulness of my music. I will never stop writing never...............It's a need, and it's healing, far more than any doctor or pill I have ever had.
