"Brendan Albert - Balcony TV Music With A View"

Brendan has a wealth of history in music, playing various instruments and writing countless songs. Starting out as a drummer and moving to guitar some years on he has a well rounded ability and a knack for catchy melodies. - Balcony TV

"From Scratch - Adventures in Independent Music Making"

Brendan Albert‘s music is like Days of the New chilling out in a tour bus with Godsmack and an acoustic guitar. Whether listening to the tunes in the ‘full-band’ recordings (it sounds like a full band, but Brendan is the one playing all of the instruments) or performed solo, the songs stand strong regardless of their instrumentation (as a good song should).

Now based into Toronto after spending a number of years in Vancouver, Brendan (when not busy with his solo career) also plays drums for Jon Travis Train, who appeared on the webcast earlier in Season 2 when Jessica Speziale guest hosted the show.

Bio

Brendan was Born in downtown Toronto and raised on a diet of melody and groove, honing his skills in many bands along the way.

Having started on drums, Brendan created a solid foundation of rhythm that has made his guitar playing quite unique. This was recognized in North Carolina when he was a featured artist on "The Undiscovered" for his self-titled instrumental album.

Sometimes being Self taught can make the world of difference in one's sound, this is what happened with Brendan, it can bring out an originality that can be lost when one is exposed to too much music theory.

Another defining element to his music comes from hard times. Artists can travel down a dark road in life, these darker experiences can end a promising artists career or worse, If your strong and push through, those times can fuel the fire and help channel the best of you and make you a more focused and passionate person and songwriter. This is what happened to Brendan Albert, you can hear it in his songs.

Brendan is currently recording a full length album of his material with Tom McKay, a world class producer, performing all guitars, drums and vocals on the album. He recently performed at Indie Week Canada backed by Thomas McKay on Bass and Tony Rabalao (a.k.a. Leh-Lo) on drums (former members of Joy Drop) and filmed a spot on Balcony TV backed by vocal looper Alissa Vox Raw.
