If people reflect where they come from, then Brent is definitely a direct reflection of La Crescenta, a suburb nestled between Pasadena, Glendale and Hollywood. It’s a town in the center of a city and a place defined by self-expression. Musicians, writers, pro surfers and snowboarders, that’s what comes out of La Crescenta. If you live there it gets in your blood. There’s a drive, a need to express yourself with creativity and talent. You can’t fight it. Brent never tried to.

The first time I remember seeing him sit down at a piano in junior high school and start belting out tunes like he’d been playing his whole life, I knew Brent had something special. And then this kid starts singing! Damn! He’s got a voice, even then mature beyond his years, that just screams from the soul. There’s no playing around. This is music at it’s finest. Brent’s an amazing talent, but more than that he’s a link to the golden age of singer/songwriter storytellers. His songs speak to you. They’re both classic and strikingly current and important. If you can’t feel the emotion of love found and lost, the toils and dramatic peaks of self-discovery, the bond of friendship…if you can’t feel all those feelings, well you just aren’t listening.
