Bio
Brethren
Brethren, a band from Hot Springs, Arkansas, play raw delta blues, combining blues, gospel and modern rock. It is something like Soundgarden meets Skip James.
The Brethren recorded and released their first CD in August 2007, produced by Jimbo Mathus at The Delta Recording Service studio, Como Mississippi. After a powerhouse performance at The Hot Springs Blues Festival they were invited to play on the Emerging Artist Stage in Helena, Arkansas at the Arkansas Blues and Heritage Festival. The band also had the honor of opening a show for the legendary Pinetop Perkins.
The Brethren can be heard regularly on Amy B’s Smoke Stack Blues Show, KABF 88.3 FM in Little Rock, Arkansas.
In 2008 Brethren won the Sonny Boy Blues Society Battle of the Bands to garner them the title of being the official band for the 2008 Arkansas Blues & Heritage Festival (King Biscuit) with an incredible set on the main stage.
"Brethren were by far my favorite band at the 2008 Arkansas Blues & Heritage Festival (King Biscuit) Better than Zeppelin" Kevin Cubbin of Beale Street Caravan on NPR.
