Bio

Growing up in a rural town and being the son of a preacher my early exposure to music were the hymns we sang at church and sitting at home playing our collection of at least two records I can remember. One was a Cliff Barrows gospel record and the other a record of children's songs.

I was around 8 years old when I asked for my first record player. Which turned out to be the first of many future requests of always asking for something musical for my birthday or Christmas. It was my pride and joy that record player. Listening over and over again to those records.

Fast Forward 30 years, a cassette recorder, three jam boxes, two stereos, a saxophone, two synthesizers, and three guitars and here you find me.

For whatever reason growing up I was always drawn more to the melody and the sound more than the words. Whether it was the sound of the instruments or the tone on the vocals. It was the melodic movement that captivated my heart and mind and soul.

So it wasn't surprising for me when I first attempted to write a song with my own words the message seemed a little weak for what I was hoping to express. So one day I played a little diddy on the guitar for a friend of mine and said you need to help me write a song for this. I'm not sure even a week went by when he handed me the lyrics. I was in shock. It was perfect. The song instantly came together and ignited the passion that I've always had in my heart for music.

And it was this fuel of a faithful and encouraging friend that inspired me to finally believe in myself. And it also sparked a fire within him too. He has written over a dozen songs now. And working together has been nothing short of a God moment.

If we had to sum up what we hope our music represents. It would be enveloped with being authentic. Authentic to who you are, where you are and where you deserve to be.

So many times other's words and even our own words to ourself are self-defeating. Sure life is real. But we hope that in our music we can help others see the brighter sides of life in the smiles on others faces and the hope we can find just by believing in others and in ourselves.
