"Jon Bellion performs on Student Union terrace, asks audience to love one another"

Two student groups, JuS and Kalimur, opened the free concert. By the time Bellion came on, the lawn was sparsely filled with blankets and chairs.

Brett Steinberg, a seventh-semester communication and journalism major, said he enjoyed Friday’s concert and thought the crowd did too.

"When Bellion gave his speech, it was a nice moment to know what he was thinking,” Steinberg said. “Art is one of those things that’s holding up the light above the darkness. I felt something in the air when he said that.”

Steinberg, a fan of Bellion before attending the show, is the singer and piano player for Kalimur.

“Bellion is one of those really intriguing artists because of all the influences that go into his songs.” - The Daily Campus

"CHASING MOONLIGHT & WORDSPIT REMIND AMERICANS “WE ARE STRONG”"

Alternative band Chasing Moonlight, whose work falls in the same lane as Imagine Dragon, Coldplay and The Black Keys were spurred by recent events which have transpired within the last week, as well as other major events which disrupted history throughout the world to record and shoot a new video for “We Are Strong.”

Although America, and the world at large seems heavily divided, the goal of Chasing Moonlight’s new single is to bring people together in a time of confusion, anger and hatred, reminding folks that “we are all Americans and no matter the differences we should be able to pull together in unification for the good of the country.”

Watch the emotional video featuring a verse from Wordspit up top.

“75% of the proceeds [from sales of the single] will go to UNICEF.org‘s Syrian Refugee Relief fund. In this time of Social unease and political hostility, this is a message that needs to be heard around the world. WE are love, WE are peace, WE are strong.” - Complex Music / 2DOPEBOYZ

"Meet Brett Cameron"

Today we’d like to introduce you to Brett Cameron.

Brett, please share your story with us. How did you get to where you are today?
I started playing music in middle school after my mom convinced me to try out for the school’s national anthem. From there, I learned the guitar, piano, production, and songwriting.

Much of what I do now is a product of experimentation. Whether producing, songwriting, or playing live, I’ve seen what works for me and what falls flat. It’s constantly a game of artistic/self-exploration and refining. - VoyageLA
