Brett Klug

Brett Klug hails from the progressive, music-loving city of Madison, Wisconsin. As a child Brett was always interested in sound. At first from the Van Morrison, James Brown and Stones records his parents would play and later from the noise he made strumming an Oscar Schmidt guitar that they bestowed upon him. Brett has been playing guitar since he was ten and learning new instruments along the way. In high school, Brett played in a number of bands with friends, giving him the opportunity to teach himself bass guitar, piano and drums. Along the way, Brett also picked up vocals. Going to University of Texas in Austin for a year, Brett was exposed to all sort of different styles of music- making and the characters that went with that diversity. In the end Brett decided to transfer to the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis where he attends school and creates music. Brett blends a unique style combining bluesy folk with soul and modern day singer-songwriter to create a sound that’s all his own.
