Bio
Brian Adam Smith began to take himself seriously as a songwriter two years ago when he sequestered himself beneath a red-tin roof in Bat Cave, NC and picked up the pen and paper.
Two years later, with a pocket full of folk songs and hell-bent on bringing them alive, he is currently recording a 3-disc debut that features himself on lead vocals; acoustic, electric, and pedal steel guitars; 3-string and 5-string banjos; harmonica; keys; electric bass; and drums. He is backed by Halli Anderson on violin and backing vocals and Kim France on upright bass and backing vocals.
After the album's release, aside from playing live shows, he will produce a documentary on African-American clog dancer Arthur Grimes who frequently dances with Old Crow Medicine Show and Carolina Chocolate Drops, among others.
Notable performances include Atlanta Peachtree Music Festival, Santo's Party House (NYC), Cake Shop (NYC), and Brian was "demanded" by literary icon Salman Rushdie to perform for his first seminar at Emory University.
