"2004 Midpoint Music Festival Review"

"If the late Jeff Buckley is in Folk Singer Hell, he's being tortured by fey-voiced "sensitive" guys with guitars whining flatly about just how much the world hurts ... but love me baby, pleeeease. If he's in Folk Singer Heaven (my bet), he's smiling down on Brian Charniga. Beautiful melodies, lovely voice. The "good" Jeff Buckley, a jazzier Chris Issac, acoustic love mojo." - Dale Johnson - Citybeat - Volume 10, Issue 46

Bio

Brian Charniga made his singer/songwriter debut in March 2003 and has quickly established himself as a respected singer/songwriter in his hometown of Cincinnati, OH. Brian's love for all types of music is clearly portrayed in his songs, from adult alternative to blues and jazz. The eclectic mix of influences make Brian's music very unique.

Brian's music has often been referred to as "intimate" and "romantic". His vocal stylings have been labeled "cherubic" and "passionate" by many, and often draws comparisons to the stylings of the late Jeff Buckley.

He made his singer/songwriter debut at an open mic @ Cody's Cafe in Cincinnati, and quickly moved on to performing at larger local venues, opening for several well known Cincinnati musicians. At the end of 2003, Brian was offered a regular gig at Cody's Cafe and performed every Tuesday night until the popular college hotspot unexpectedly closed it's doors at the end of January 2004. Later that year, Brian was chosen to play at the 2004 Midpoint Music Festival in Cincinnati OH.
