Bio
Hailing from Athens, GA, Brian Connell and his band deliver unique, original Alt. Country music. His debut album, "The Sordid" (scheduled for an '07 release), calls to mind the confident swagger of a mid-'60s Bob Dylan, the boozy alienation of a balladeering Tom Waits, and the foot-stomping insistence of a strung out Johnny Cash. Lyrically, Connell presents a landscape that is at one moment desolate, lonesome, and broken, and at the next, divine, romantic, and humorous. Connell's song forms and instrumentation suggest the traditional, while his lyrics and delivery create a different, curious country sound.
