Bio

After teaching himself to play the drums as a freshman in high school, Brian gained confidence as a singer after surprising the members of his youth group one day during a game.

The desire to play songs on his own led him to pick up the guitar. After learning a few basic chords from a friend, Brian got some chord sheets and began strumming along with CDs of worship music as well as songs by artists such as Vertical Horizon, Jars of Clay, Oasis, Sister Hazel and the Goo Goo Dolls.

Soon he began writing songs. His favorite place to make up melodies is in the shower.

As a senior project in high school, Brian recorded a 4-track EP with the help of his friend Jason Tolliver, singer in the band IVES.

In college at UC San Diego, Brian grew as a musician while playing for the worship team in Intervarsity Christian Fellowship and later, leading for college ministries at Community Bible Church.

Brian's song "Tomorrow" was influenced by a new outlook on life and the world gained through his traveling experience while studying abroad on Semester at Sea in the fall of 2005. This trip brought him around the world and gave him opportunities to play with musicians in South Africa, India, Myanmar, Japan and many places in between.

As a music minor at UCSD, Brian took many studio recording classes and took this opportunity to record tracks which eventually came together for his 9-track album "One Day", an entirely self-produced project.

The summer following graduation, Brian spent 3 weeks volunteering in India with the Dalit Freedom Network who's cause is to free the Dalits from the oppression of the Hindu Caste system.

After that, he traveled to Guatemala with CTI Music Ministries as part of a 9-member band that toured around the country, playing over 30 concerts.

Currently, Brian lives in San Diego where he is pursuing his music career by singing at coffee shops and open mics. His dream is to keep writing, playing and performing and to one day begin recording again.
