Brian David And Plain Spoken Folk

I’m a singer/songwriter from the Atlanta/Athens area, and for me music is storytelling, confessing, repenting, laughing, testifying, crying, praying and loving, all in one sitting. In my case, all of that comes in a dark haired, in-need-of-a-shave package that sounds a little bit like Martin Sexton and Shawn Mullins, with a dash of Johnny Cash and Bob Marley…now, let that simmer and then pour it over a slice of Muddy Waters and Marc Broussard. AND, I really love Jazz music, long walks on the beach in the moonlight, and I can cut a mean rug!!

Plain Spoken Folk puts some more hair on the chest of the solo acoustic sound that is Brian David. The addition of both the bottom and the back beat gives the songs just what they've been wanting, what they've been needing...every song needs a little groove, a little soundtrack to move to, a little shimmy in it's shake...you know.

Getting to know an audience is a big part of the excitement performing. If it feels comfortable like a group of friends just messing around and cutting up, then it makes the experience much more relaxing and enjoyable.

Now for the recap: Acoustic singer/songwriter, with a bluesy soulful vibe that also draws inspiration from reggae, country and bluegrass, but still has pop sensibility. DONE!
