1st Verse:
THIS MORNING BEFORE YOU WOKE
I MADE COFFEE FOR TWO
PULLED A CHAIR UP TO THE BED
AND I JUST WATCHED YOU
BRUSHED THE HAIR OUT OF YOUR EYES
CRADLED YOUR HAND IN MINE
WATCHED YOU SMILE
AND THE SUN BEGAN TO SHINE

Chorus:
IT’S JUST ANOTHER MORNING
IN MY MIND
A MISTY MEMORY
FROM A BETTER TIME
IT’S JUST ANOTHER MORNING
I CHOOSE TO BE BLIND
IT’S JUST ANOTHER MORNING
IN MY MIND

2nd Verse:
THERE’S YOUR TATTERED ROBE
HANGIN’ ON THE BATHROOM DOOR
AND AFTER YOUR SHOWER
IT’S THE FIRST THING YOU’LL REACH FOR
‘CAUSE IF I LAY BACK DOWN AND CLOSE MY EYES
SOON YOU’LL BE BY MY SIDE
IT’S JUST ANOTHER MORNING
IN MY MIND

1ST VERSE:
I TRIED TO LET HER DOWN EASY
AS NOT TO CAUSE HER SHAME
SHE HAD TO LAUGH TO KEEP FROM CRYIN'
GOT SO SHOOK UP, SHE FORGOT MY NAME
SHE TRIED TO GIVE ME BACK A BRACELET
I HADN'T EVEN BOUGHT
I CAN TELL SHE'S TAKIN' IT
HARDER THAN I THOUGHT

CHORUS:
LOOK HOW SHE'S DANCIN'
WITH THE FIRST BOY SHE SEEN
SHE'S WHISPERIN' IN HIS EAR
PROBABLY TELLIN' HIM, ALL ABOUT ME
THE WAY SHE'S LAYIN' HER HEAD ON HIS SHOULDER
AND HOLDIN' ON WITH EVERYTHING SHE'S GOT
I CAN TELL SHE'S TAKIN' IT
HARDER THAN I THOUGHT

2ND VERSE:
I GUESS HE'S TAKIN' HER HOME
'CAUSE SHE'S TOO DEPRESSED TO DRIVE
THE WAY SHE'S PUTTIN' DOWN THE DRINKS
I CAN TELL IT'S KILLIN' HER INSIDE
THEY MAY BE WALTZIN’ THEIR WAY
OUT INTO THE PARKING LOT
BUT I CAN TELL SHE'S TAKIN' IT
HARDER THAN I THOUGHT

2005

WHEN I HAD TO CHASE MY DREAMS

SHE DIDN’T TRY TO HOLD ME BACK

FOR ALL THE SIGHTS I HADN’T SEEN

SHE LET ME CROSS THOSE TRACKS

I KNOW HER HEART AND PATIENCE

HAD BUT ALL BEEN SPENT

AND I WISH I HAD A DOLLAR

FOR EVERY TIME LOVE DIDN’T MAKE SINCE

WHEN I FOUND MYSELF

CAUGHT BETWEEN HEAVEN AND HELL

YOUR ON THE ROAD TO SOMEWHERE ELSE

THEN ONE NIGHT

SHE CAME TO ME IN A DREAM

STOOD AT THE FOOT OF MY BED

SHE BEGAN TO SING….

IF I TOLD YOU I WAS LEAVIN’

WOULD YOU LOVE ME MORE OR LESS

IF I GAVE YOU A GOOD REASON

WOULD YOU WISH ME THE BEST

I KNOW YOUR HEART AND PATIENCE

HAVE BUT ALL BEEN SPENT

AND I WISH I HAD A DOLLAR

FOR EVERY TIME LIFE DIDN’T MAKE SINCE

AND WHEN I FOUND MYSELF

CAUGHT BETWEEN HEAVEN AND HELL

I CHOSE THE ROAD TO SOMEWHERE ELSE

YES WE’RE ALL ON A ROAD TO SOMEWHERE ELSE
