Bio

Brian began his musical study at the age of
13, when he was given an old guitar by one of
his teachers in grade school. From that
moment, the root of his daily life was the
guitar. However, he quickly developed a
love for everything musical. During the
day, he would practice guitar, study
rhythms, play in the high school jazz
band, jam on rock tunes with his
buddies in the basement and dissect
almost every style of music. At night,
he would fall asleep to the soft glow and
warm sounds of his bedside radio.
Listening to classic hits by artists of the day
as well as the masters of songwriting.
Everything Brian did centered around music.

Years later, he was off to Berklee College of Music in Boston where he studied Music Production. "I knew,” he says, “from years of listening and experimenting on my own, what made a song great, so, I wanted to learn how to effectively capture the sounds I already heard in my head.”

After graduation, Brian moved to California. There he began working as a guitarist and vocalist, and used his production knowledge to great effect by recording tracks for some of today's best known artists. Brian currently composes music for independent films, children’s television and writes songs for local recording artists. And he is still always listening for the next wave of creativity.

Through years of recording on “both sides of the glass,” Brian has become a fan of audio, and so, he has spent hours outside the studio collecting interesting sounds for use in his projects. Because of this, Brian's view of what makes music is unique. The delicate crunch of snow under his foot, for example, becomes just a small part of his distinctive sound. "It's similar in sound to a shaker,” he explains, “but knowing that the sound comes from a moment that changed my life, makes it mean so much more, emotionally.”

This approach to his craft is both ear-catching and yet, familiar for the rest of us. “Music is pitch and rhythm, and every sound on earth has these elements. So I don't hear techno beats, film cues, pop songs & glass falling down an abandoned missile silo as isolated events. What I hear is a life in which all of these sounds play a part.”

“To me, the entire world spins in tempo."
