Bio

Brian Firestone has been a composer and performer since his mid-teens. He has composed over 300 tunes ranging in style from pop, rock, new age, instrumental, jazz, blues, ballads, and classical. Much of his instrumental work is extremely well-suited for motion picture/TV themes and soundtracks.

Brian’s main composing instrument is piano. He also sings, plays guitar, bass, drums, harmonica, and most percussion instruments. He is also the consummate “piano man,” accompanying himself live as he ranges through an exciting repertoire of blues, standards, boogie-woogie, jazz while always leaving his audience wanting more.

Firestone is a graduate of New York University, School of the Arts in Film & Television.

Brian is not a stranger to the entertainment industry. From 1975-1992 Firestone
was a syndicator of many first-run and re-run television programs, including but not limited to “Candid Camera,” “To Tell the Truth.”, “The Addams Family,” “Green Acres,” “Tattletales,” “Card Sharks,” and more.

In 1983-1987 his Company, Firestone Communications Inc., was retained by Chuck Barris Productions to run the syndication of “The Newlywed Game,” “The Gong Show,” “The Dating Game” and other shows, Firestone being “key man.” Brian could be seen as a fixture with Chuck Barris and Budd Granoff at the Friars Club on any given day.

Brian’s passion for music and love of songwriting may have in part have been inspired by his late uncle, Howard Greenfield, whose published catalog included over 500 songs with such standards as “Breaking Up is Hard to Do,” “Love Will Keep us Together,” “Calendar Girl” and many more.

Again, in the business end of the business, around 2001 Brian created the sales strategy for The Howard Greenfield Song Catalog, taking bids from EMI, Warner Chappel, BMG and several others. The catalog finally went to BMG through a series of face-to face negotiations between Brian and Nick Firth, then Chairman of BMG.

Although now he’s a successful mortgage broker, his passion is his music and he’ll never hesitate to let you know he plays piano every day, continues to write, record and perform solo, as well as collaborate with his wife of 15 years, “…the Love of my life,” Carine Ulano-Firestone, a multi-talented singer songwriter in her own right whose career is about to explode (hear her latest on Sonicbids.com/Carine).

“Now is the time for me and Carine to get our music out into the public eye. We’re very excited to begin this new chapter of our lives, and feel strongly we’ll meet with tremendous success.”
