Bio

Throughout his twenty year career, veteran singer/songwriter Brian Guy has fused his experiences, convictions, and passion into his expressive and innovative music.

With an eclectic writing style that incorporates rock, reggae, blues, bluegrass, folk, classical, and jazz, Brian's sound is completely his own, reflecting his diverse musical interests and studies. However, what makes Brian truly unique is his skillful use of narrative insight to create a lyrical palate that is profound for its depth and honesty. Brian's repertoire reveals that he is truly a well-traveled student of life; therefore, the listener can always anticipate hearing novel and soulful music with his distinctive, inspiring message.

As a performer, Brian has paved his way from a local favorite to a festival-headlining act.

From the South to the East Coast, the Midwest to the Rocky Mountain Range, even to South America, Brian continuously has delivered an unforgettable live experience.

In the early days, Brian's career consisted of recording and performing regularly as the front man for the headlining rock band Union, from Pensacola, FL. Following his four year commitment with Union, Brian relocated to New York to record and perform with the Gregg Smith Singers, a professional ensemble which focused primarily on 20th century American choral traditions. Following his love for Classical music, Brian began studying at Westminster Choir College in Princeton, NJ as a voice major. During this time, Brian recorded and performed with prominent orchestras as a soloist, a chamber singer, and a conductor. However, it was at the choir college where Brian decided to return to his roots, so to speak, and focus his efforts on his passion for songwriting.

After completing college, Brian relocated to Madison, WI, where he recorded his debut album, Freedom, and wrote the majority of his current repertoire. Brian's four year period in Madison proved to be a fertile and timely period for his growth both as a songwriter and as a lyricist. With a growing hunger to get his music to the masses, Brian decided to leave the comfort of Madison and pursue his ambitions. He would spend the upcoming years in the music city, Nashville, TN, followed by Asheville, NC, where he further refined his repertoire and delivered many memorable live performances. After these years of success in the South, Brian again relocated, this time to Rollinsville, CO. Currently, he is recording new material at his retreat in the foothills, and playing his music for enthusiastic listeners all across the Rocky Mountains.

Evoking a unique emotional experience through songwriting and explosive live performances, Brian's music is an earnest message of hope and freedom for his many fans. Humbled and inspired by this, Brian maintains a firm commitment to remaining a student of life. What he learns, he passes on through song and spirit, as he follows his path through a world of music and wonder.
