"Brian Kremer - Echoes & Twirls"

If Cole Porter's songwriting were any less iconic, it'd be impossible to tell where his words end and Brian Kremer's begin. His debut album, Echoes & Twirls, is a seamless mix of classics and originals threaded together by a clear devotion to vintage Western swing. Standards like "Don't Fence Me In" and Hank Williams' "Cold, Cold Heart" are executed with the same care and precision of his own work, Kremer's velvety tenor breathing new life into cherished songs and animating a nostalgic view of courtship. Austin Americana trio the Carper Family joins Kremer throughout the album, adding fiddle whines, harmonies, and vocal banter to Cindy Walker's "Take Me in Your Arms and Hold Me." Even so, originals "After This One" and "Someone Else's Girl" mimic Kremer's muses in both content and form, evoking slow winds on sawdust dance floors. - The Austin Chronicle

Bio

Brian Kremer is billed as a crooner/songwriter, pointing with a Dean Martin wink to an elegant sound that plays somewhere between Bing Crosby and Hank Williams on the radio dial. Brian’s polished, tender voice and guitar-picking charm are fully showcased on his new album Echoes & Twirls. Backed by the award-winning acoustic trio The Carper Family, he recorded live in a large, vaulted-ceiling studio to analog tape just the way his heroes once did. The dozen country-tinged songs include standards like “Cold, Cold Heart” and “Don’t Fence Me In”, classic-influenced originals, and deeper cuts once made hits by a young Frank Sinatra. The Austin Chronicle said of Echoes & Twirls that "If Cole Porter's songwriting were any less iconic, it'd be impossible to tell where his words end and Brian Kremer's begin." (August, 2015)

Brian was selected for the 2015 ATX6 (including Austin Musician Of The Year 2015 Gina Chavez) which sent him to perform as an Austin musical ambassador at NXNE in Toronto, Austin Week in Angers, France, and Halifax Pop Explosion in Nova Scotia.

Brian's résumé includes a classical Grammy nomination with the Dale Warland Singers and jazz studies at Berklee College of Music. His performances include earnest interpretations from the American Songbook, his own creations, a little whistling, and a lot of romance and heartbreak.
