BandBluesAcoustic

Ol’ time country blues marinated in hillbilly stomp, breaded with gutbucket funk, smothered in southern fried soul, and dipped in dixieland jazz.

Biography

While keeping one foot planted firmly in the roots of American music, vocalist/guitarist Brian Martin and blues harp extraordinaire Greg Batterton are forging a distinct path into its future as well. Blending styles of old-time country blues and ragtime jazz with elements of folk and bluegrass, they deliver energetic heartfelt tunes full of wit and down-home soul, resulting in music that is both unique and inviting for generations young and old.

This musical partnership began after Greg sat in with Brian on a few of his solo shows in early 2006. The pair quickly realized that a special musical connection had been made and began booking shows together. Over the past few months, the enjoyment of performing together combined with audiences overwhelming feedback, has prompted the duo to continue enhancing their dynamic stage show. But while the two musicians bring individual styles that fit seamlessly together on stage, the backgrounds that brought them there are quite different.

After years of fine-tuning his songwriting and developing his finger style guitar picking away from the public eye, Brian began his journey of a fulltime musician in 2004. In short time, he has developed a loyal fan base throughout the region based on his original compositions and solo performances. Greg, on the other hand, is a seasoned multi-instrumentalist who’s performed in some of the most talented bands in the area for over two decades. He has been a staple in the Hot Springs, Arkansas music scene for many years and is one of the most in demand musicians in the region.

Currently, Brian and Greg split their time performing together as well as in their own individual projects. But as the demand for this duo continues to grow, and the music continues to flourish, they will most likely continue to deliver passionate performances that keep listeners entertained for a good time to come.
