Brian McGrath is a Chicago-based singer and songwriter of original Americana & Folk music. A big man with a voice to match, McGrath’s work weaves tales of broken characters, desolate landscapes, and fleeting redemption all along the road connecting Chicago and the North Woods. A live performer of intense and earnest conviction, McGrath fuses his own strikingly personal lyricism and droning percussive guitar with equal parts “brooding” Springsteen, Johnny Cash, and The Dubliners. In addition to his solo work, McGrath also writes, records, and performs indie rock with his band “The Union Times,” an evolution of his previous projects “Grolar Bear” and “Northland Ghost.”
