13-year-old Brianna James is making waves in 2009—airwaves that is! Her debut album is scheduled to release this summer, but in the meantime, Brianna keeps busy by riding the magic red carpets of her rising fame. Having performed at sporting events and schools all over the country has landed Brianna on the Hollywood radar. She’s made appearances at this year’s Grammy’s and will be attending the Kids Choice Awards as well as the Teen Choice Awards.
Brianna will also show off more than her pretty face when she jumps on the Radio Disney circuit later this year. “Boy Crazy” is Brianna’s first single and will be released this spring. It’s obvious the holidays are here.
Downtown San Jose is wearing its holiday garb and there is plenty to see and do while enjoying the beautiful weather—and
the lit tree.
Last Friday, the city lit its 60-foot
Community Giving Tree to the delight of the large crowd assembled for the evening. Plaza
De Cesar Chavez has transformed itself into a winter wonderland with more than 60 musical and animated exhibits and glittering lights at Christmas in the Park.
In fact, you might want to travel downtown on Sunday, Dec. 7 to watch one of the biggest
and best holiday parades in the country and while you’re at it visit Christmas in the Park and see the giant Christmas tree.
The parade is set to begin at 8:30 a.m. with an opening number from Ballet San Jose Silicon Valley. In addition, Radio Disney's Brianna James will perform during the parade and the day before
at the inflation celebration at Paradefest at Christmas in the Park.
The inflation celebration
begins on Dec. 6 at 3 p.m. and allows people to watch the giant helium balloonsbegin to inflate and rise above the downtown
streets. The celebration also includes live entertainment, children’s activities and giveaways
to begin the fun weekend.
What’s a parade without a grand marshal, or should we say marshallette?
This year’s grand marshal is Princess Aurora from
Sleeping Beauty, who comes to San Jose courtesy of Disneyland® Resorts.
Once the parade is over, there will be more fun at Christmas in the Park. The city has arranged for live performances from special
guests including Brianna James and The Raggs® Kids Club Band, Marvel® Superheroes, Miss
USA and children’s activities, prizes and more giveaways.
There are a number of areas with bleachers to view the parade. Radio stations will have
bleachers in the following areas:

Brianna has been singing since the age of 3. Born and raised on Houston's southwest side, she grew up in a world of vocals and piano instruction.
"Nurturing" is Brianna's nature and it comes out loud and clear in her songs. "It's not about me, but it's about making people feel good when I sing. "At age 10 Brianna James made her first big appearance and to her delight received rave reviews. Before long she was singing the National Anthem before an arena full of Houston Aeros. Brianna was invited back several times after her first performance! During Briannas first performance of the Anthem at the Houston Aeros game, there was a Dynamo Executive attending which heard her talent and invited her to perform for the Dynamos as well. Brianna James has made seven local appearances at the Toyota Center for the Houston Aeros, not to mention made many appearances for other professional sporting events.
Brianna's music is a mix of contemporary, pop with a slight rock edge. Among her favorite artists are Alicia Keys, Celine Dion, Christina Aguilara, Josh Groban, Mariah Carey & Whitney Houston. She owes her success to so many. A few mentionable include first and foremost mom & dad (her front-row cheerleaders), Eric Bruner, with Sing with Power Studios (vocal coach), the late Thomas Corley (piano instructor), Mike Whitehead (guitar instructor), and Jonathan Prater (choreographer).
Recently Brianna James had the opportunity to go to Hollywood, California to record with multi-platinum producer/songwriter Andrew Lane, of Silent Chaos. Andrew Lane is best known for his work for the Backstreet Boys, B5, Diddy, the soundtrack for Disney's High School Musical, Hannah Montana soundtrack and countless others. When Andrew Lane first heard Brianna James sing he was blown away by her vocal skills and how mature she sounded for a 12 year old. Brianna impressed him so much that he invited her back to work with him on two new songs which one was also co-written by Andrew Fromm. Fromm has written for many major artists. His first big hit was written for Backstreet Boys/ Nick Carter "I Need You Tonight". Jesse McCartney, Marc Anthony, West Life, Corbin Bleu, KC & JO JO and countless others. In addition Brianna has worked with another songwriter/producer - Alicia Champion who is best known for her work with Melissa Ethridge and Steven Tyler.
Brianna kicked off the 2008 summer along with other aritsts performing at the historical Panorama Mall for the End Of School Jam to honor the students that ended the school year with good grades. Brianna was also a part of The School Tour (theschooltour.com) performing at various middle school and High Schools. The School Tour is a promotional tour based in Los Angeles, California that takes independent and new artists to high schools, middle schools, other special events to perform in front of large audiences. On Briannas summer tour she also stopped by several state and county fairs such as the Los Angeles County Fair and the Sacramento State Fair. Starting in February 2009 Brianna will be performing at a series of Radio Disney events.
Brianna James made her debut appearance on the red carpet at the 2008 Angel of Hope Awards which was held in Pasadena California.
This past August, Brianna was invited to walk the
red carpet for the 2008 Teen Choice Awards, which aired on FOX. Shortly after Briannas debut on the #red carpet, she was asked to visit the headquarters of Bop/Tiger Beat Magazine which is teens IT magazine for all the latest on their favorite stars.
In October of 2008 Brianna also had the privilege of doing an on air interview with one of New Yorks rising radio stations Celebrity Spotlight Radio, as well as radio station 2RDJ in Sydney, Australia and UKs HIT station Taff Air Radio. In January, 2009 Taff Air Radio decided to put Brianna as their featured artist due to all the requests they received. Brianna was also invited to perform at the 2008 San Jose Holiday Parade on December 7th, for over 150,000 people which was broadcast LIVE on NBC all over the world.
Brianna is currently writing and recording for the release of her debut album. Brianna James first single and video for Boy Crazy featuring actor Orlando Brown from Disneys smash TV show Thats So Raven is due to release in stores nationwide and iTunes spring 2009 with a late summer album release.
Brianna and her management team Spotlight Entertainment are really excited about the release of Briannas project. Look for Brianna to walk the red carpet at the 2009 Grammys, Kids Choice Awards and another trip down the red carpet at the Teen Choice Awards!
Brianna James is currently 13 and lives in Houston, Texas where her family heritage runs deep. She's surrounded with love from her mom, dad, brother, grandparents & a town full of aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Look out for Brianna James in a city near you!
