"Brian Wahlstrom, Claremont, Joey Cape and the end of the world"

Having seen Brian Wahlstrom playing with Joey Cape, Tony Sly, and Jon Snodgrass at The Croft in Bristol and being satisfied that he is a most pleasant
and personable sort of fellow, we here at The Antagonist picked up a copy of his debut EP, Claremont, to enjoy at the Headquarters.

After listening to it for the first time, we were left staring at it, agape, amazed it somehow made its way into our office before being discovered by the mainstream media. All we have to say about that is, you snooze, you lose, suckers!

Is it good? You bet your mother it’s good. From carefully written and lovingly arranged music to thoughtful, personal lyrics that are revelatory and political without being over-the-top or preachy, Claremont is five tracks of unplugged theatre. We’re left with the distinct impression that rather than being
a musician trying to prove he can do something a bit like opera, Wahlstrom is holding back.

We had to talk to him. - Antagonist International

Bio

Brian Wahlstrom is a versatile singer who has performed and recorded everything from punk-rock and metal to opera. He lives in New York City and was classically trained at the Manhattan school of Music. When he was only 19, his first band took him on tour with national acts such as Unwritten Law and Sugar Cult. After 6 years of touring and 3 record releases, Brian engaged himself in the world of opera and musical theater. While he has always been able to move seamlessly throughout musical genres, he is an extraordinarily passionate songwriter and composer. He recently went on a nine country acoustic tour to support international artists Joey Cape and Tony Sly. Brian's debut solo album Claremont was self-released in March and he continues to promote the record with a performing schedule that is growing every day.
