"Brian Walton's new release getting national airplay"

New single “I Love my Truck” may catapult the artist onto the national scene as it climbs up the indie charts.

NEW YORK, NEW YORK (Independent) Thursday, April 09, 2009 -- Country Singer/Songwriter Brian Walton may have scored a hit as his newest single “I Love my Truck”, released only a week ago, is receiving a lot of national airplay and buzz.

“It’s his most commercial effort to date and a perfect crossover hit” says George Strophopolis owner of Sony records partner Blue Rhino who went on to say that the entire album “Kickin’ it” demonstrates Brian has honed his songwriting and music production skills to the point of commercial viability and, most important, marketability.

Brian’s previous album “Made in the Shade Live!” recorded during his 2007 US tour was met with warm reviews, but never made it beyond the 80th spot on the US indie charts. His newest release is already in the top 50.

Brian, who studied at Julliard, performs and produces all of his own material in his studio in Denver, Colorado. He’s been an ASCAP and Songwriters Guild member for over 20 years with an impressive 400 plus titles to his credit.

His 2009 US Tour is almost booked out with performances in Austin Texas, Cheyenne Wyoming, Nashville Tennessee and, of course, in Denver Colorado. He will, once again, enlist the Help of old friends and Nashville players; Ron Sweet (Bass and Vocals), Jeff McNair (Drums and Vocals), Tory Alliance (Keys/Acoustic/Fiddle) to provide the backline. Brian will take over the Lead Guitar duties for missing Guitarist Ron Schwer who had to bow out due to health issues.

"Great Year for Brian"

Press Release – Brian Walton

WOW! 2007 was a monumental year for Brian Walton. The Live release of the album “Made in the Shade” (The original album was recorded in 1991) exceeded even the most optimistic expectations and has levitated Brian’s reputation as a singer/songwriter right through the roof. Combined Internet sales at Amazon and CDBaby exceeded 5,000 CD’s 3 months after the 1 August, 2007 release of the album with iTunes downloads reaching over 8,000 by the end of the year. And there seems to be no end in sight. Sources close to the artist said that daily sales of the album continues to grow and new sign-ups over at the official Fan-Site (www.waltoncity.com) has reached an average of about 20 a day, so what is the Buzz all about and why is the live version of the album experiencing much better sales as the original release?

Well according to Brian it’s a matter of production. The original album couldn’t showcase the energy one experiences during his live performances where he feels much more at Home than in the Studio. “I’m at my best on Stage” says the artist who is no slouch in the Studio as well with over 30 published musical productions under his belt either as musician, engineer or producer. “In the studio I become the ultimate perfectionist and demand a lot, not only from myself, but also from those who I work with.” Brian goes on to admit that he learned to relax with the production of “Made in the Shade Live”, “You can’t go back and overdub or rework a live performance; otherwise, it’s no longer live.” Brian also admits that he was extremely nervous releasing the album, because of the occasional mistake, but in my opinion, if you can find one, it probably adds to the authenticity of the performance.

Brian also announced that he is back in the Studio working on a new album. He goes on to say that the new album will be much more relaxed and “rootsy” leveraging on the experiences made during the recording of “Made in the Shade Live!” and his Southern-Rock heritage. He says that all tracks will be recorded live with minimal reworking of the original recording. The production schedule will also be extremely tight, so that the album can be released in time for the scheduled European tour in August 2008.
