Bio

Brick Bad River is the West Texas Swag duo formed in July of 2010, in the flatland city of Lubbock, TX. The duo began jamming long before the record setting summer heat of that year with Tanner on the Six String, and Chase on skins. The duo originally played as a drum and bass combo for a group of friends in their sophomore year of high school. The group played throughout their high school careers and ended up going their separate ways. Tanner (24) went to the University of Texas to study radio/television/film and Chase (24) went to South Plains College to study business. Tanner has a bachelors degree in his field and Chase has an associates degree.

Brick Bad Rivers style is focused around Rock, Blues, Jam, and Funk. You could relate them to other likable two pieces such as, The Black Keys, and The White Stripes. BBR tends to pull influences from all sorts of places. For example, Tanner claims to be one of the biggest Widespread Panic Fans in the known universe, while also enjoying the electronic vibes of Chromeo, and of course the greatest rock n' roll band of all time, Led Zeppelin. Chase on the other hand has a more generalized approached to music, tending to like genres more so than groups. From Jazz to Dubstep, Instrumental to Experimental, and Blues to Psychadelic. Groupwise, Chase gravitates towards Closure in Moscow, Herbie Hancock, Gary Clark Jr., Bill Withers, and Citizen Cope.

The duo eventually got back to business and started making music again. They have been playing all around Lubbock, Amarillo , Denton, and Austin. BBR boasts a songlist of over 60 tunes. Half originals, Half covers. The covers range from all time greats such as Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, ZZ Top, Aerosmith, and other well known artists, The Black Keys, The White Stripes, Gary Clark Jr., John Mayer, Jack Johnson, and so on. Regarding the original tracks, Push Pull is one of BBRs favorites. Push Pull is a slow grooving blues track about the struggle of love. The Hunt is another original which is based off of a break beat groove, mixed with some syncopated rock riffs, lead lines, and a breakdown where the tempo is slowed slightly, and complimented by a afro-cuban tom beat, and ambient guitar sounds. Ain't No Business is the bands first original, still a fan favorite, and a band favorite. It's a rock song, through and through.

BBR is fairly established in the West Texas music scene, and striving to get into some large festivals, 35 in Denton, SXSW, and Austin City Limits in the for front of the band members minds. BBRs endgame plans are to setup a production studio in Austin, TX and live music in the Live Music Capitol of the World.
