Bio

Noel Rivard and Ely Kelly were first made aware of each other in 2004 at a funeral for a mutual friend. Ely was asked to play music for the service and Noel was asked to speak. Two years later they met officially at The Works bar in Detroit. Both had a similar history in musical performance and enthusiasm for fringe culture and alternative lifestyles. The duo immediately began creating compositions and formed Bride Stripped Bare. Ely's combination of intense vocals, heavy guitar work, haunting pipe organ, and intricate piano meets Noel's fusion of hip hop, marching band, and rock influenced climactic percussion. The feel has been described as a Pentecostal tent revival meets neo-vaudevillian glam rock. They soon found work collaborating with Theater Bizarre, the Detroit Fire Guild, and many other performance troupes to create vivid and immersive theatrical experiences. Utilizing their music and various performance arts such as fire spinning, burlesque, and circus acts, the band has become iconoclastic as a hybrid of theatre and traditional rock based performances. In 2012 Bride Stripped Bare would be met by a stunningly attractive and talented Miss Tamara Marla (Tamster). She fulfilled the bands need for a stronger bass line and lustrous harmonies. Bride Stripped Bare's most immediate influences include David Bowie, Radiohead, Nick Cave, Tom Waits, Tool, Judas Priest, Marilyn Manson, Clutch, Nina Simone, Tiny Tim, Neil Hamburger, Wu Tang Clan, Metallica, Daft Punk, Dresden Dolls, Elvis, the sword (nihonto) wielding culture known as samurai, Satori Circus, and The Terminator saga, which is primarily focused on John Connor, leader of the human resistance in a world where human existence is threatened by self-aware cybernetic organisms.
