Bridges Out Of Eden

Bridges Out Of Eden

BandRockAlternative

Energetic. Powerful. Versatile. Unique. A recent press release was quoted as saying, "Bridges Out Of Eden writes music about real life struggles, and successfully does so with soulful blues riffs, a driving rhythm section and spiritually compelling lyrics."

Biography

The band, although hard to categorize, draw many comparisons to current premier bands such as Nickelback, 3 Doors Down, with the songwriting potency of Bob Seger and others.

Ralph Sutton (House of Blues Recording Studio, Memphis) had this to say about us, "Bridges Out Of Eden's style of music is as energetic and powerful as it is versatile and unique, and truly sound like no one else in their music arena." David Preston, BMI Nashville had a chance to listen to the band one night in Nashville, and said that "if those songs aren't radio-friendly, then I don't know what is!"

Lyrics

Break Me Down

Written By: Jeremy Thompson

Here they come again, the giants, to bring me down one more time.
Screams of happiness turn to screams of torture and terror in my mind.
I’m looking for a happiness that I just cannot seem to find.
and I’m ready, Yes I’m ready for You to love me, love me back to life.

Break Me Down, Break Me Down and give me a better life.
Break Me Down, Break Me Down Lord, Break Me Down and give me a better life,
A better life that I can’t find

Feels like I’m coming up for air one last time.
One at my front and one at my back but I got an army on my side.
I only feel alone when I cannot see You shine.
But I’m ready, yes I’m ready for You to love me, love me back to life.

Won’t you take this pain away, yeah, Lord come and take this all away

Break Me Down, Break Me Down and give me a better life.
Break Me Down, Break Me Down, Break Me Down and give me a better life,
A better life that I can't find

Soldier

Written By: Jeremy Thompson

Look around at this world you see, people dying so innocently.
Some don't even know what they're fighting for; still we ship them off to war.

Help me go, help me run to these fields they're dying in, help me fall down on my knees.
Search for answers from up above, because that's the only thing worth thinking of, let's live (let's live) in love.

Barely twenty he leaves his mother's home, setting out for the great unknown.
You set him down, and give him a gun, and tell him "son, go protect your home."

Help me go, help me run to these fields they're dying in, help me fall down on my knees.
Search for answers from up above, because that's the only thing worth thinking of, let's live (let's live) in love.

Life

Written By: Brandon Melton and Jeremy Thompson

Tell me do you wake up every single day and feel that same old way
'Cause it's all gonna be alright so just sit back and hold on tight

'Cause you're on this crazy ride
It goes up and down and spins round and round
Nothing can slow it down
It's called Life

When you look in the mirror is it a stranger looking back
Or someone who's got his life on track
It might be a long and rocky road but you can do it
This I know

When this life is burning and the pressure gets you down......

Run

Written By: Jeremy Thompson

It's dark and cold and I'm alone in this house all by myself
The walls they close in on me and I know I've made my hell
Why'd I push you till you leave? My own stupidity
I'd give my life for just one chance to bring you back to me

'Cause this ring on my hand is a promise that stands forever
No it's not just a band, it's a symbol of all that I am
So I'll Run to you

I'll travel down this road that runs between you and me
I'll be the calm in your storms and I'll be the strength that you need
If you look at me you'll see a man down on one knee
A man that gives his life to you to hold for eternity

So I'll Run to spend my life with you and do anything you want me to do

In Need Of a Savior

Written By: Jeremy Thompson

I've been wrong time and time again
I'm trying to find this thing that makes my life worth living
I've been across everything between drugs and jail and a life of hell
And things I do not need

I.... I'm in need of a Savior, Someone to get me through these lonely nights.
I....I'm in need of a Savior. So want you come and take me home tonight

So I'll fall and I'll lay my body down
And I will find something that I've never found
Yes I'm dirty and oh I'm broken down
But the grave was slain to pick me up when I am down

Don't Cry for Me

Written By: Jeremy Thompson

Hey mom, I know it seemed so fast, when I went away
But I'm not gone, no I'm only out of sight, see I'm just around the bend,
And every time the wind blows I hope you think of me,
And every time you hear the birds I hope you hear me sing cause its alright now,

Now I'm standing at the gate, with angels all around me,
and if you look real close you'll see me smile.
and now I'm running on streets of gold, happiness is flowing through my soul,
There are no more tears and no more pain, and its alright cause I'm not gone, hey
Tell my friends when they get here we'll have fun, don't cry for me, no don't cry for me.

Hey dad I know we said some things I know we didn't mean,
But you know how I feel and I know how you do 'bout me
And tell mom it'll be alright and its only for a while, and
Tell all my sisters I'll see them in their dreams at night, and
Every time the wind blows I hope you think of me, and
Every time you hear the birds I hope you hear me sing, cause its alright

Why Can't You Love Me?

Written By: Brandon Melton

I don't remember much from that day except you grabbing me up to say
You don't appreciate the way I'm acting so then you threw me out the door
Then you slammed me into a tree and started hitting on me
Why you did that I'm not sure, I didn't even ask you what for
Instead I said

Why can't you just love me for who I am
Everything I do isn't good enough for you
Why can't you just love me for me

I moved back home 'cause you said you were different
But not much here has changed
You say you don't like the person I am
But who I am is who I'll be

Against The Wall

Written By: Jeremy Thompson

Met a girl today/ a beauty queen they say

She said you’re so lucky/ I said what do you mean/ she said please just listen to me

See my home’s that box over there/ it’s that place people always stare

She said it wasn’t always like this you know/ you have some bad luck then down you go

And this dress, it’s all that I’ve got/ but I know someday I’ll get my shot

To climb back on top of this world that keeps on pulling me/ pulling me, pulling me down

And then she said….

What about you, will you judge me when I fall

What about you, will you hear me when I call

What about you, will you listen when they talk

Or stand up for that girl you met with her back against the wall

She said I’ve been here a while/ and every day I watch you all pass by

I could say how this just ain’t fair/ truth is I’m what got me here

See I thought I was better than that/ I had to have it all till one day I had nothing left

I couldn’t wear the shame of a normal girl/ now, just a beauty queen in this lonely world

And then she said….

What about you, will you judge me when I fall

What about you, will you hear me when I call

What about you, will you listen when they talk

Or stand up for that girl you met with her back against the wall

Rain

Written By: Brandon Melton and Jeremy Thompson

(chorus) Rain keeps pouring down, pouring down on me
I can't see you now but you're in my dreams
Something always drags me away but somehow we'll find our way

Are you in love with me or who I used to be
People always change, we never stay the same
And someday you will see, I've lost that part of me

(chorus 1x)

I know you've changed, you've changed just like me
That spark that lit your eyes ain't where it used to be
And someday we will find that we could have made it right

(chorus 1x)

And maybe not today, but someday we'll find our way....
