"'The Wishing' Review"

....the early songs are fun, tripping along with that mixture of stunning lyricism and innocent joy that she does so well. A few more songs pass, and suddenly I'm hit by the intense rush of Let's Do Love, funky rhythms and groovy piano harmonies making my toes tap and my fingers twitch. And there it is. The open piano chords, the sparse harmony, the haunting vocal line. The tune that's been filling my head for a week is back, an emotion-filled ballad called Phonecall about moving out of home and building a life for yourself. As the strings build to the poignantly unfinished ending, I realise (quite rightly) that I will have to live with this song in my head for a few more days yet - a highly enjoyable hardship. Bridget's catchy brand of country-style pop makes her one of the most fun new voices in Australian pop music that I have heard in recent times. I hope to be a regular at her upcoming shows! Now, if only I could get this album out of my head... - www.artshub.com.au

"Bridget a'Beckett and her songs"

Here's a candle to light the lonely rooms of your heart nd mind. Sometimes the simple things are the best, when every day we're put to the test. One day, should we ever transcend celebrity chefdom, property speculation and desperate housewives, we might find that again. Songwriters like a'Beckett restore my hope and faith - http://reddwarf.com.au

"Bridget a'Beckett EP"

The silky voice of this girl from Tumbarumba is as lush as her single's production. Her songwriting has a certainty and sophistication that belies her background: there's no country in this articulate selection of classic based singer/songwriter indie pop. a'Beckett is a natural storyteller abd she delivers those stories with an ease and delicacy without ever slipping into the colloquial style of Missy Higgins or the saccharine of Delta Goodrem, both of whom to which she has been compared. There's a subtle earthiness that grounds it all and makes this album a real treat to the ears. - Drum Media

Bio

Bridget's music is indie pop. Combine the sweetness of Eva Cassidy's voice with the freshness of Feist, melodies of James Morrison and piano-ballads of Missy Higgins, then drop a string quartet in the middle and you have an idea of her sound.
Starting her career acting as a Berlin prostitute in Australia's production of Cabaret alongside Tina Arena, Bridget has gone on to be a finalist in the 2006 SBS songwriting competition and a recognised talent in Australia's live music scene.
She is currently touring Europe and New York performing her original songs alongside singer/songwriter Mark Wilkinson.
