Bio

Bridgette C. Anderson was recently featured and sang a selection from her recent debut CD Heavenly Grass, on FOX45 Baltimore Morning News Show to rave reviews. She has performed opera, recital, and musical theater, throughout the United States and Europe. Her debut CD Heavenly Grass: Great American Art Songs was recently released to wonderful reviews. She made her Carnegie Hall debut in the Weill Recital Hall in the Voices of the New Millennium Concert in New York City, and her Washington Opera debut in the role of Tituba in Robert Ward’s The Crucible.

Mrs. Anderson has also performed with the Lyric Opera of Chicago, the Charleston Symphony International Tour of Porgy and Bess, The Israel Jerusalem Music Festival, Aspen Opera Theater and Opera Ebony Young Artist Program. She was guest soloist for the Bahamas Independence Day and Goombay Festival which celebrates her Bahamian heritage, the New Haven celebration of the life of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr, as well as the 100th Anniversary of Christ Episcopal Church in Miami, Florida.

Mrs. Anderson’s operatic repertoire includes such standards as Zita from Gianni Schicchi, Flora from La Traviata, Thisbe from La Cenerentola, Dorabella from Cosi fan Tutti, Dido from Dido and Aeneas, Mrs. Grose from Turn of the Screw, and Hat Lady from Postcards from Moracco, as well as several oratorio works. Her other stage experience includes the National Broadway Tour of Showboat, American Theater of Harlem’s Picnic and Raisin in the Sun.

Mrs. Anderson is the recipient of several awards including the 2001 Paul Robeson National Vocal Competition, the 2001 semi-finalist for the Marjorie Lawrence International Vocal Competition, semi finalist for the Bel Canto Competition of Chicago, the YWCA Studio Club Competition, 1999 International Who’s Who of Professional and Business Women, and 1998 Ms. American Achievement of District of Columbia and the National Association of Teachers of Singing state and Regional Finalist.
Mrs. Anderson received her Bachelor of Music in Opera Performance from East Carolina University where she was awarded outstanding College students of America and then went on to study at the prestigious Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, MD and the American Institute of Musical Studies in Graz, Austria.
