Biography

With an EP, “Then We Learned to Dance”, under her belt and “Picture Show”, Brie Neilson’s debut full-length album in the hands of listeners, we now have the hard evidence of a busy 6 years, active and well connected within the Montreal music scene. Neilson has played a leading role in the 10-piece Montreal folk-noire collective, The Unsettlers, who have released two full length albums and performed at some major music festivals, including Montreal Jazz Fest and Osheaga. For the last three years, Neilson has been gathering “Othermen” to create a full band sound all her own. Branching out into the national touring circuit and performing at festivals such as The Montreal Fringe and the FME, the coming year is one to watch for Brie Neilson.
