DARK ROCK’S FINEST, BRIGHTER FIRES

After years of honing their craft, modern dark rockers Brighter Fires have released a new eponymously titled album, available now for streaming and purchase at http://brighterfires.com. Fans of Depeche Mode, The Cure, Nine Inch Nails, Dead Can Dance and Joy Division – yes, the best of the 80’s dark wave – are drinking up the rhythmic sounds of Brighter Fires as this “old school” sound resonates deeply in the hearts of fans. A new voice in the post-punk, dark wave genre, Brighter Fires pays homage to their roots while pushing the envelope to a new artistic plane.

Warm, deep vocals soar through blackened skies, while pounding antique drum machines, cold and rhythmic synths, relentless bass-lines and melodic, destructive guitars carry the listener home on wave after wave of rich emotions and unforgettable hooks.

Brighter Fires is a force to contend with. The union of Andy Deane and Gopal Metro creates a unique but familiar energy that is rich, atmospheric, dark, and driving. With the release of their eponymously titled Gothic rock and post-punk inspired album, “Brighter Fires,” Deane and Metro produce a piece of musical artistry that hooks the listener from the first beat.

Since 1996, under the name Bella Morte, this duo has produced 7 full length CD’s, 3 EP’s and unforgettable, high-energy live shows that took the electro, pop and rock worlds by storm, while also playing a significant part in reviving the Gothic rock scene in the mid ‘90s and ‘00s. After nearly two decades of writing songs that evoke the best of ‘80s Gothic, dark wave & post-punk sounds, Brighter Fires once again pulls another nail from the casket with their latest release.

“Brighter Fires” includes songs such as “Beyond the Hours” and “Glorious” that invite one to consider a simple, but powerful idea - there is light in even the darkest of places. If a person consciously chooses to appreciate the world they have and nurtures hope when things look most grim, they can survive anything.

“Beyond the Hours” is an energetic song with a great driving dance beat and a unique use of vintage Korg synthetic bells that gives it a memorable electro/pop/darkwave arrangement. This song celebrates the idea that everything a person needs can be found within; whereas, looking outside to find temporary joy will always lead to pain.

“Glorious” is an upbeat anthem thick with echoing vocals, incredible synth work and a melody that hooks you and leaves you singing it all night long. The lyrics paint a picture of perseverance, self-empowerment and hope in a world that seems comfortless and cold.
Once again, these two songs represent hope in times of darkness, a theme that runs throughout the entire “Brighter Fires” album.
Being a versatile duo, Brighter Fires has developed their range to include a variety of lushly textured arrangements. Swaying toward cemetery sounds with striking lyrics, base lines and hooks that are unforgettable, “Brighter Fires” leaves audiences craving more.

“Brighter Fires” is all about storytelling, whether in parables, fragments or wholes. Our stories are often tragic, but inevitably carry a seed of hope. The world can be deeply painful, but we must continue moving forward and keep learning from the past. “
“Brighter Fires” is available at most digital storefronts.

Brighter Fires is performing live shows; currently they are focused on local and regional markets, re-connecting with old fans and making new ones.
