"Obscure Sound Feature"

“I Believe” is the first of “about 12 unreleased tracks” that NYC-based indie-folk act Brightwood Patriarch plans to release over the near future. The project has grown from a solo recording project to a more full band affair, with “I Believe” showing a bright and crisp mixture of folk and rock that reminds of Father John Misty, with a soaring vocal presence that’s at times reminiscent of Jim James. It all makes for a great sound, with strong vocals and vibrant, bouncy melodies already showing Brightwood Patriarch as an act to look out for with their debut track. - Obscure Sound

Bio

Brightwood Patriarch is an NYC-based indie rock band that has been described as “a bright and crisp mixture of folk and rock that reminds of Father John Misty, with a soaring vocal presence … reminiscent of Jim James.” Brightwood Patriarch blends intricate musical textures with powerful song writing to simultaneously evoke Arcade Fire, Wilco, Johnny Cash, and Kurt Vile.

Combining the deft songwriting and arranging inspired by The Decemberists and Sufjan Stevens with the energy of a Alabama Shakes, the 5 piece band  of multi-instrumentalists covers a lot of musical ground, from aching love ballad to raucous rock anthems.
