About The Brixton Rockers
The Brixton Rockers were formed in May 2007 as a result of an advertisement in Rave Magazine placed by lead guitarist Phil Yates asking musicians to join him in putting together a band that celebrates the music of The Clash and Joe Strummer. As a mark of Respect to Joe's untimely death in 2002, The Brixton Rockers keep the musical influence and spirit of The Clash at the forefront in their original songs. and live performance. Although started as a Clash Tribute act, the originals started to come fast and with these songs The Brixton's gave a new energy and take on the classic punk sound. With sixteen originals and no signs of slowing The Brixton Rockers are here to give timeless music and a timely message to the world.

Collectively The Brixton Rockers have about a 100 years of playing experience. Individually we have toured the world and played countless covers and originals in pubs from Brighton to Brisbane. With members from Canada, New Zealand, The UK and India The Brixton's are truly international.
The Brixton Rockers aim is to support the local & National scene through events and gigs put on by 4ZZZ radio and groups like Punkfest that promote the punk bands in the Brisbane area and abroad. The Brixton Rockers provide a show reminiscent of the rootsy sound of the UK explosion of the 70s when the rock and roll punk pioneers.
