Bio

In 2006 Avery Bazan began writing music near the end of high school with a band “Flashpoint,” following a well-received performance of an original song “Stay,” during a school talent show. With the help of friends Bill Gawlak and Justin Molfese, Bazan began creating and filling out songs for the three-piece, piano band. After high school the trio split and Avery continued writing, working solo and in various combinations.

In 2009 Avery Bazan met Ted Ferik when the two began playing music together. They asked back Justin Molfese on the bass, along with high school friend Conrad McKenzie on synthesizer, and Broadcast Hearts was born. Stemming from the collection of songs Bazan had written starting the end of high-school, Broadcast Hearts began expanding the sound of the old material and creating new music.

In the summer of 2009 Broadcast Hearts began playing venues across Connecticut, meeting with positive reviews and offers from each show. Still in college, the band broke for the following school year, practicing and further developing when and where they could. The summer of 2010 saw the group play further shows in Connecticut, as well as New York city. While finishing their first EP, the band has already received invitations for radio play on three stations, as well as offers for local CD distribution and return requests from every venue played so far.

Upon finishing their last year of college, Broadcast Hearts is beginning to break further into New York, Boston, and Philadelphia. They are playing summer dates for 2011 with the release of their first EP, “Beginnings EP,” and planning a college tour during the next school year. They enjoy making videos and unusual conceptions to promote their music, and design shows complete with four-part drum solos, acoustics sets, new genres and more. They are hard at work developing a growing fan base and looking towards the future.
