Newcastle pop rock group Broadway Mile are new to the local scene, but they're already building a profile as one of the city's up-and-coming bands. Last week they debuted at number 16 overall on the Triple J Unearthed charts, also securing number five on the rock chart. The band has released its first CD, Good times from Hell, which is set to be released soon through iTunes, eMusic and Amazon. - The Newcastle Herald

Broadway Mile is a Pop/Rock band that was born out of the desire to bring the passion back into popular music. The idea was never planned, rehearsed or analysed - it just happened. Originating from Newcastle (NSW, Australia) the band formed in November 2008 and consists of:

The release of their sold-out demo ‘Good times from Hell’ has seen the band play a string of shows to a highly positive reaction from venues and a surge in their ever growing fan base.
After achieving so much in so little time it seems fitting to continue the momentum with the release of their debut single ‘I’m Not Alone’. The song has been received with amazing results from fans all over Australia even though there has been no studio recording till now. “The first time we ever played it live a girl came up to us and shouted everyone a round of beers in celebration of the new song” says the lead singer Johnny Broadway. “We’ve produced and released the song independently and so far the response has been pretty overwhelming…”
Broadway Mile will be playing shows throughout 2009-2010 to support the release of I’m Not Alone.
