"Fan Comment"

“I find your performances to be a personal session in which you share your insight, perspectives and experiences with your audience in an intimate and original way. Even though you are "a man and his guitar" on stage, your words, voice, and music unite together to achieve a genuine, whole-hearted, passionate performance. The venue gains the opportunity to hear what can only be called "Brock Boehm's insight."

Bio

"He just finished showcasing his high energy rock acoustic act in front of Capitol, Geffen and Epic records by competing for a slot out of 600 something other bands and artists."

Brock started out singing in a church choir in Houston, Texas for 12 years but felt the need after many years to develop his own unique style of singing. When he was 17, he fell in love with the drums and begged his parents to get him a kit. He went on to play for several bands in Houston, such as Smile and Breathe, before moving to San Diego, where he began playing with "Civilized Animals," now a three-member band that originated in New Jersey in 1995. The group moved to Seattle to pursue music in 2001. Within the bands he has participated in, Brock not only plays drums but helps with arrangements, melodies and dynamics. Throughout his career as a drummer, he started to fiddle with instruments, such as guitar, bass and piano that were kept at his house for band practice by other musicians. A friend eventually gave him an acoustic guitar, and he began writing and playing his own songs in earnest, creating original rhythm patterns with a vocal delivery of whispers, regular singing and screaming encompassing melodies to counter the rhythms. What makes the songs original is Brock's unique style of singing against the rhythms being played instead of following them. He has written more than 60 songs with moods ranging from mellow to medium to high energy, and appealing to a wide and diverse audience.
