Bio
Brollachan ... an acoustic, eclectic, Celtic band ...
Bringing a bold, new beat to an Old World sound. Brollachan is made up of three members who are all well versed in the Scottish and Irish traditions but who are able to blend influences from Latin, French-Canadian, and world genres into the mix.
You've got a hear their take on traditional tunes and rockin' reels and jigs. But this trio offers a whole lot more.
With years playing and performing in the Celtic style as individuals, this instrumental band has come together and created a true blend of sounds truly unique to Brollachan. With Krista's Cape Breton fiddle tradition, Matt's strong pipe band background and Carolyn's years of Celtic accompaniment, Brollachan has moved beyond to bring a fresh face to these influences.
And, although the group's name is taken from Celtic mythology, Brollachan brings the spirit of the Celts alive with infectious jigs and reels and original material by Krista, Matt, and Carolyn.
Brollachan has performed for private kitchen parties, festivals, conferences and on many concert stages around New Brunswick, the Maritimes and Ontario. Their first CD recording will be released in May 2007.
