Put two and two together and you get Brollies & Apples, two couples - B.Apple (Bianca Jhordao) & O'Reilly (Rodrigo Brandão) - both from brasilian pop band Leela, best brazilian album Latin Grammy 2005 and Best New Artist MTV Brazil 2005 - and Carol Teixeira (philosopher and writer with two books released and also a DJ) & Chernobyl (guitar player and master mind behind funk rock band Comunidade Nin-Jitsu, DJ and musical producer of many acts like Bonde do Role) - with a lot more in common then their happy marriages!
Bianca and Carol met in 2008, at Nickelodeon Awards' backstage where they were hosting the show together. In January 2009 the two couples finally met in a pub in London, Camden Town, and started talking about joining forces in a musical project together.
Back in Brazil - Bianca & Rodrigo in Sao Paulo and Carol & Chernobyl in Porto Alegre - they started making songs back and forth thru the internet. Carol writing lyrics and doin' some sexy vocals n' Chernobyl adding synths, drums and guitars - Bianca doin' the main vocals and Rodrigo banging some grunge and noise guitars - all that later to be edited and mixed by Chernobyl. This mash of influences between the couples results in an exciting blend of electro, punk and grunge, all rouded up with literature drenched hot lyrics.
After getting 4 songs down, the lovey dovey rock n.. roll love birds spent a hedonistic weekend in Punta del Este - with amazing movie director Bruno Safadi cameras taping all the R&R debauchery - resulting in the video clips of Rented Dreams and Not My Fault. At last, some light at the end of electro-rock..s tunnel - or at least some Brollies & Apples!
