Bio
The story of Brollik begins in 2005 when guitarist and vocalist Ryan O’Donnell began playing with drummer Dave Rich after being introduced by a mutual friend. Ryan & Dave began jamming together at rehearsal studios and open mics in and around the New York City area exploring a psychedelic tinged bluesy rock original sound. Under the original band name “The Drive” they performed their first show as a Power Trio with Alex Jacques on bass at the C Note in the East Village in 2005. It was on this night that Brollik’s future keyboard player Shannon Mulready answered an advertisement to record the band and was introduced to their exciting sound.
Following a string of shows as a Power trio in 2005, Brollik began 2006 as a quartet adding Shannon on keyboards and using a revolving core of outstanding bass players for performances (Alex Jacques, Justin Kimmel, Ben Tyree & Mike Straus). The quartet of Ryan, Dave, Shannon and Justin Kimmel recorded Brollik’s self-titled EP featuring four of Ryan’s compositions in February, 2007 at MetroSonic Studios in Williamsburg with Mike Straus as Engineer/Producer.
Brollik has played at some of the most famed rock and roll clubs in New York City since 2005 namely: The Knitting Factory, Arlene’s Grocery, The Bitter End, The C Note, Kenny’s Castaways, Connolly’s, Laila Lounge, R Bar, R & R, Pussycat Lounge, Bar 9, Kate Kearney’s, ICU Bar and others.
