Bio

Bronwyn Davies creates expressive, heart-felt music. Channeling her diverse influences, ranging from celtic music to modern rock, she brings her own unique take to subjects ranging from personal love and heartbreak to universal themes of human suffering.

Bronwyn grew up in the hills of upstate New York, where she learned to play the violin as a young girl. While listening to the bluegrass, folk and jazz that her parents played, she soon expanded to playing fiddle styles as well as classical. In high-school she started to pick out a few chords on the guitar, and soon began to write her own songs.

Her musical exposure was deepened at Bennington College, where she studied music composition and performance. During this period, she also played with local bluegrass and celtic bands, which expanded her musical range. During a stint abroad in London, she played on recordings for an R & B singer and a flamenco fusion artist. She also continued to work on her own song-writing.

In her final year of college she came to Nashville for a few months. During her time there, she played fiddle with singer-songwriter Becky Chord. Inspired by the underground music scene in Nashville, she decided to move back there in 2005. There she met musician Martin Motola, who produced her first full-length CD of original songs. The CD features a number of talented musicians from the Nashville music scene. Bronwyn has played venues in Nashville, around the Southeast, and New York City. In addition, she has played violin with singer-songwriter Edie and the band the Big Happy. She completed her first CD of original songs, "Revealed", in 2007, and is currently recording new songs.

Currently, Bronwyn is working on new songs and honing her live performance.
