Story telling at it's very best. Whether it be in the Australian Bush Ballad style or the American contemporary style or anything in between, this combination can do it all either as individuals or as a duet.

Biography

Brooks & Magee are very quickly establishing themselves as a must see country music duo. Featuring the crystal clear vocals of multi award winning balladeer Denise Brooks and the well seasoned timbre voiced Bob Magee, this duo is breathing new life into all genres of Country Music. Both have enjoyed success as individual artists both here in Australia and overseas.

Although they have performed as a duet numerous times over the last 7 years, it was the 6 month stint in Longreach, where they performed 4 shows a week at the Woolshed to a capacity audience, that has developed the polish and professionalism that Brooks & Magee now brings to the stage.

Denise and Bob have a great feel for the stories they interpret through their music and are delivered in a style that is unique and appeals to a wide ranging audience. From up tempo contemporary style songs and ballads to the more traditional style of country music Brooks & Magee sing it all.

Brooks & Magee have wowed audiences throughout Queensland and NSW over the last 3 years. The have played at many Festivals and Events including the Spirit Of The Bush Festival at Boondooma, Widgee Bush Ballad Festival, Blue Water Country Festival Port Stephens, Drovers Camp Reunion Camooweal, Nanango Festival, Jandowie Festival, Australian Stockmans’ Hall Of Fame, Longreach Show and Milmerran Camp Oven Festival to name a few. They are also Tamworth regulars, appearing in not only there own shows but as guests on the Bangtail Bush Poetry Shows, ABBA Showcases and Sam Smythe’s Bush Poets Breakfasts.

They have toured extensively throughout Northern Queensland as part of the 2006 Country Classics Tour and in 2007 with the Brooks and Magee – The Balladeer and the Sailor tour. Brooks and Magee also performed 5 nights per week from April – September 2008 at the Gunadoo Caravan Park, Longreach receiving outstanding reviews for the show and will be returning again for the 2009 Season.
During 2009, Brooks & Magee will be releasing 3 CD’s. The first CD due out is called For Old Time’s Sake and is a traditional style CD consisting of 6 tracks…4 of which was co-written by them. The feature track is a cover of Slim Dusty’s Saddle Boy, wonderfully sung by Denise with Bob providing backing vocals. Saddle Boy will be released as a single to radio through the TSP (Triple Strand Productions) radio compilation in April. www.triplestrandproductions.com

The second CD consists of 12 tracks and is the complete opposite of For Old Time’s Sake. The CD is called On Tour and features some of the requests they were asked to perform during their 2008 Woolshed performances. Throw in the special Brooks & Magee treatment on some really great contemporary classics and you have a CD that is distinctly Brooks & Magee in sound but certainly different in material.
