Bio

Hailing from the Naval Town of Norfolk Virginia, Brooks and his family moved to Hagerstown Maryland to start up a family business. It was in Hagerstown that Brooks picked up his first guitar at the age of ten and swiftly started taking lessons from one of the towns most acclaimed Blues Guitarists Lew Palladino. With the guidance of Lew, Brooks dove head first into the roots music that grounds the soul of America. Slowly working his way through Blues Jams at local clubs and sitting in with local bands, Brooks honed his knowledge for the music and learned everything he could from the local bands in his area. With the support of other musicians Brooks started to write his own songs, perfect his guitar playing and begin work on his vocal ability. He started to book shows at local Coffee Houses, when he enlisted the help of Doug Grove to back him up on percussion. With the guidance of Doug's creative rhythm, Brooks started perfecting his Funky Acoustic Blend of Soul Enriched Blues, driven by lyrics about Personal Freedom, History, Politics, and the Current State of the World.

To strengthen his song writing ability Brooks began to take Music Theory classes, and study under a second local guitarists Al Mason, also at this time he enlisted the help of a vocal coach to open up his singing range and breathe life into his original songs. During this period Brooks and Doug played anywhere that they could book a gig, which included many local Coffee Shops especially in the town of Frederick Maryland where the duo also played on the Campus of Hood College and are members of the local Frederick Blues Society.

Now Living in the College Town of Ithaca New York where he attends Ithaca College, at the age of Eight-teen Brooks just finished work on his first studio release entitled Latte Roasted EP, paying homage to his days at the Coffee Shops. Longtime collaborator Doug Grove joined Brooks in the studio to lay down the percussion for this EP. With the help of the newly released EP, Brooks is hitting the streets to dive into the great music scene of Ithaca while still continuing to gain support from the Maryland music scene that he has grown up in. Within the next year Brooks plans to broaden his fan base with the new album, extend his touring range, and literally go wherever the music takes him.
