The Cause – Video Version 1 ‘Enter The Storm’ album

‘The Cause’ is the first track off the Canada band, BROOMFILLER’s CD album ‘Enter The Storm’, such an influential track viewing the title track’s video only makes the song much more powerful. Leal vocalist and guitarist, Richard D. Leko, is an accomplished musician; fans will definitely be pumped watching the video; great way of further connecting with the band …sort-of-speak.

The video was filmed in a local park. Some bands videos tend to get lost in translation with the various story-telling effects BROOMFILLER keeps it straightforward, keeping all unnecessary effects out; making the video look like as if you were in the park enjoying a concert on a sunny Saturday afternoon.

The band comes alive, keeping the viewers eyes glued to the screen, Leko makes immense eye connect with nearby cameras…splendid way of grabbing attention to the viewers. The drum shots are by far the coolest, a pleasure for this old part-time drummer. On added note-, some video directors tend to over do the spin points, not BROOMFILLER; the spin points were on the mark, excellent!

If I had to describe this video with one word, it would be “classic”!

Enter The Storm is the latest full-length album for this the Canadian band, This 16-track album is filled with uplifting bass and guitars, pumped vocals with trouncing drums which was all written and performed by Leko. The album follows the popular “Watching The Girls Go Bi” which took the US College radio stations by storm; I see no problem with a repeat performance.

Leko changes it up for this album; it is the same Richard Leko skills only slightly semi-edged out. It’s more Foo Fighters with a blend of Nirvana and a side dish of twisted Depeche Mode. Clearly one can hear it in “Control” raw vocals, mellow-savvy guitars and b-kicking drums.

The eye-turn on is “You Can Have It All”, Leko shows his more mellowed side well as mellow as one can get. Still the heaviness of the drums and guitars play throughout this track however, lyrically it’s a soothing the beast combination. As well as with the track “Motorcade” with an old plimpy 70’s guitar feel (only guitarists know that phrase) “Motorcade was a pleasant experience, perfect timing on the drum chorus, Leko vocals are on key, still utmost rawness but they don’t over power this track. “Back Down” has a System of the Down feel at the starting gate after that, it goes to left field in a good way. The drum-bass are on the money, added note – I think Animal from The Muppets joined the band and is jamming on the drums (yes, Animal is a cool drummer).

Of course knowing BROOMFILLER, they always (in most cases) have a bonus track…a teaser for the fans. Just when you think it is over the thunder kicks in more and the storm ‘enters’ with roaring Tokyo Drift drums, fiery guitars soaks everything in sight, as quickly as it began it ends, the skies open up and the drums and guitar begin to sing as to birds do after the passing of the rain.

Recommendations: “Control”, “Fonzysnap”, “Motorcade”

"BROOMFILLER's new video 'The Cause'"

I am thrilled about this band and what they are trying to accomplish. They are a 3 piece punk rock band from Canada. Their sound is most definitely different from the rest. They add heavy melodic alternative rock with deep guitar and heart attack drums and frame it around true meaning clean vocals. Each song is like the good old fashion punk with a modern twist. They recently released their second album Enter The Storm on Coach House Records. Also they have a new video out titled The Cause you can download it and other videos on their sites. - Reviewed by Hawk (MousaGenre Promotions)

"Enter The Storm" - reviewed by MUEN Magazine

Imagine Ozzy Osbourne turns punk and re-titles himself BROOMFILLER! Ok, it's not that extreme, but there are some similarities in the vocal deliverance of Richard D. Leko. The truth is, this songwriter-vocalist-musician does a lot more than bite off the heads of bats and let camera crues into his home while he's sloshed.... Richard Leko did EVERYTHING on the album titled, 'ENTER THE STORM,' and he did it damn well!! The Canadian punk rocker is on tour now with his live version of BROOMFILLER and if they are anything like the album, in concert, one needs to take these "punk artists" seriously, at all costs. Songs like the first track, "The Cause," and others such as "Drainho" are brilliant songs that spotlight the artists uncanny knack for great storytelling. After just a few listens to this album in it's entirety, the songs have become engrained in my memory without wearing out their welcome. This CD is plenty long enough with 15 tracks of mainly high-octane material, and a pretty good recording of a thunder storm as well for the end of the song, "Backdown" which actually ends up being track 16 on the disc, before it's over.... great work!

Bio

BROOMFILLER is Toronto, Canada’s answer to melodic punk rock. Blending melodic vocals, bass lines and rhythmic drumming with a very energetic live show, enables them to easily stand out.

“The album kicks some serious ASS !! Full of great hooks and riffs!!”
Trikeman69, Trike's Trax

BROOMFILLER
is compared to Foo Fighters holding hands with Millencolin and Bracket, while sitting on a park bench built by Jawbox & Husker Du, while eating a sandwich prepared by Bad Religion and washing it all down with a stiff drink mixed by Face to Face.

“BROOMFILLER is proving that guitar driven Punk Rock is still alive and well”
Matt Hartwick, Kingston Music Reviews

Enlisting Jordon Zadorozny (Blinker the Star / Lindsey Buckingham / Courtney Love) to produce, “Third Stage Propellor Index” which was released August 28th, 2015. The Single “How Long, So Long” climbed up the BDS Bullet charts starting from #228 to #128 in one week, as well as hitting the Top 10 (#6) on the 365 Radio Network and Charted #1 on both Radio Banks Australia & Sommer Valley FM in Somerset, UK! The Music video had just over 6000 views only 2 months after posting on Facebook. Currently the video has just over 12K views and counting!

“damn easy to listen to...very tuneful and as catchy...”
Mosh, The Moshville Times

In support of the new album, the band toured Western Canada (17 shows in 18 days) during September / October 2015, taking them from Toronto to Vancouver and back, as well as an Eastern Canadian tour July / August 2016, which took BROOMFILLER to Charlottetown, PEI and back (12 shows in 11 days).

“It's tricky finding a balance between punk and musical, and BROOMFILLER does it well.”
Bob Mersereau, The Top 100 Canadian Singles
